abc7 news reporter alyssa harrington is here with the latest on this developing news. >> reporter: eric, one man was critically burned in this fire, but it could have been a whole lot worse if not for the brave actions of one neighbor who ran into this burning building. the fire started around 7:15 tonight. our emeryville camera shows the thick, dark cloud of smoke over the city. katherine tippett shared this video of the flames pouring out of a third story unit. inside that burning apartment was a man lying on the floor and yelling for help. a man who lives in the building next door saw the smoke and knew he had to do something. he ran into that burning building and helped the man get outside before rescuers got there. >> i started yelling to him, like get up, get out. get out. then finally he kind of snapped out of it and came to. so i said, don't worry about your stuff. just get up and get out. his hands were all burned. but i just felt like hi to get in there and help someone, so i did. >> reporter: the victim was taken to highland hospital to be treated for burns. at one point, all
