our clerk is alyssa somera. this is the very first inaugural meeting of this select committee not only the first meeting that we'll have together as a committee but the first time this committee has even existed for awhile, there was a joint city school district committee which i sat on when i was a school board member. we had a joint school district which i chaired as a commissioner on the school board but now we're coming together in the right place which i think is the right thing to do. there's tremendous possibilities with us working together as three institutions. i want to thank the trustees and commissioners who are here and i want to thank president cook in particular and president randolf. we are in a unique situation. we are the only county close to that situation and the goal is to align priorities and goals and work together to improve the lives of our children, young people, teachers, faculty and all those in our community who aspire to learn. this community will work on building a stronger workfor
