i am a big ocean conservation advocate. there are insufficient protection for the marine wildlife and maximum mals in and around the bay and this includes the two-legged mammals. i think there is a lack of specificity as to how the protections will be addressed. i want to give you a few suggestions and some things that you might want to consider. slowing the vessel traffic down in order to avoid collisions with marine wildlife. that does not mean the racing vessels, just to be clear. prohibiting noisy personal water craft on the race course as they are already banned in most of san francisco. and then rigorously enforcing laws to prevent plastic and trash from going overboard. they can result in entanglement with wildlife. those are the things i would like you to consider. thank you again for the opportunity to come in. >> hello. i am a life member of the dolphin club. i have been swimming in the bay since the late 1960's. i will try not to repeat all of the things the previous dolphin club people have been telling you. i gu

i am kimberly ross. i am a member of a nonprofit organization whose primary purpose is to provide support for aquatics sports in the san francisco de. will work with many vendors, many of whom are here today. it is an exciting opportunity to showcase aquatics or sunday. it raises the following concerns. in section 5.5-15, it fails to mention the running club and the dolphins club are located within the park and have been for many years. table three-one of the eir indicates there was no plan to allow club members access to the south end of the running club. it also indicates that it would be a temporary berthing facility, but it does not address the needs to keep a water park safe for all swimmers and rowers. it is a 140 foot-long barge that is an unacceptable solution for the viewing of the race. there are other areas of downtown that are better suited to view events on the big screen. most of these events occur in the early morning. organizers must work with us to keep the bay area open during these non-

i am terence patterson. what i think i can bring to the mental health board is an ability to further the integration of programs among agencies and to extend culturally appropriate services. i will speak on that a little more, but i will just mention a bit of my background. before i came to san francisco in 1971, i worked in philadelphia as a community organizer and also with delinquent youth gangs. i then was the race relations officer and family therapy director at the presidio. i then worked for seven i then worked for seven years at the family practice clinic. i worked in washington for the national institutes of mental health since 1990, i have been in san francisco. my interest in integrating programs comes from when i was at san francisco general. we would get children and teenagers referred who had mental health problems. there was no coordination between the school, the social service agency, and the mental health system. i was relatively effective in doing that, in having passion about it, for all o

i am a driver with yellow cab. i am also the person who has since 2009 pushed for the single operator medallion. i want you to keep in mind today that company representatives who are trying to oppose this single operator medallion, this is a question of whether you have company controlled medallions against driver control and driver owned medallions. that is what is being debated here. the cab companies have to have full-time medallions because they are vehicle leasing firms and that is not necessarily the same thing as addressing the issue of transportation service. taxi drivers are considered to be self-employed business owners and because they are, they have to be given the opportunity to have some degree of ownership in the business. that is what the single operator taxicab is. i strongly recommend you please to go forward with a single operator taxi medallion. my recommendation is to go forward with a three-year lease plan and at the end, give drivers the option to own to purchase the medallion. that is one way

i am not waiting anywhere. i am leading. my school was caved in -- my skull was caved in by one of the police officers. when i came to, i was in a mental hospital and they would not release me. i guess the prosecutor said, "this nigger is crazy." so they kept me for a week and they would not release me. i had to find someone who could come get me. when i got out of prison, they had put me in a homeless shelter because i could not leave the state. i was originally from indiana. i started doing my own investigation. i came across some other things that i needed. i applied to those things. i applied my military training. that is why i feel that i am an example for young blacks here. the rev. oakridge as education, education. my education over -- the rev. preaches education, education. my education overturned my conviction. i out with a federal agent to do it, but it worked. -- i outwitted a federal agent to do it, but it worked. tavis: we honor those people who put their lives on a one for our country. you did that in the navy.
