i'm ama daetz. san holiday say arrested a man on friday after a wild chase and a shooting. tonight they'll charge him with murder and they're searching for his partner in crime. jonathan wilbanks of san jose is being held on homicide, attempted murder of a police officer and armed robbery. here's more. reporter: a friend of the 23-year-old who was shot to death here friday night has been holding a musical memorial for him for the past hour. now, the crime spree that ended up in the death of the young man has shocked a neighborhood that thought it was safe. >> a smell memorial marks the area where a 22-year-old man was shot to death during an attempted car jamaicaing friday night. a woman watched one of the masked men shoot the man. >> i saw the guy shooting, shooting just like that, one, two, three shots. reporter: this is one of the areas where the two men attempted a robbery but instead committed a homicide. the men went on a crime spree, robbing three other locations at gunpoint. this jack-in-the-box at 8:58 p.m. and this spa at 9:01. the men's car was spotted by sap hol

i'm ama daetz. 17-year-old gary white, jr. died of an argument over a girl escalated into gunfire in a vallejo neighborhood. here's the latest now. reporter: a short time ago police confirmed it was a fight over a girl that started at a party. a 19-year-old and 17-year-old were arguing, and police say the 19-year-old called his father, who came back with a gun. >> relatives of the teenage victim gathered in the morning fog in vallejo. it was quiet compared to the arguing. >> the argument went back and forth and i heard something like, i'll rut you to sleep. i'll put you to sleep, and i'm like, my god, this is bad. >> moments later her fears became reality. >> hear egg the argument go back and forth and you watch, you watch. that's all i kept hearing. you watch, i'm going to put you to sleep. i'm going to put you to sleep. and shortly after you heard gunfire. >> relatives identified the victim as 17-year-old gary white, jr., local high school student working toward a college basketball scholarship. >> he was a good kid, man. ai

in the newsroom, ama date, abc7 news. >> thank you. let's go overseas. a massive blast rocked gaza city as israel and hamas edge closer to the brink of war. it struck the police headquarterses and it was more than 180 strikes in the past few hours. the battle began when israel killed hamas' military leader in retaliation hamas fired hundreds of rockets into israel from the gaza strip. israel is targeting possible hamas rocket sites. they also have 75,000 troops ready to march into gaza if necessary. president obama says he supports israel's right to defend itself. now, the attacks triggered a protest in san francisco. the palestinian demonstrators want to see an end to the strikes on the gaza strip. and right across the street, israeli supporters shouted their nation is acting in self-defense. >>> new at 11:00, a road rage incident in fremont escalate need a physical fight before police arrested one of the drivers. it happened in the middle of auto mall parkway. police say both drivers, one in a cement truck, stopped right in the middle of the road claim
