i'm ama dates. >> and i'm dan ashley. the accidents happened within minutes of each other. the first was near japan town and the second on third street in the bay view. >> abc7 news sergio quintana joins us from the hospital with the latest. sergio? >> ama so far the passengers that were rushed here to general hospital have since been released. as you mentioned these crashes happened around 1:30 within about 10 minutes of each other. 40 people injured. 20 at one scene and 20 at the other. a lot had to be sent to the hospital, 23 in total. a passenger aboard the usually busy route described the chaos when it careened into a tractor-trailer truck while trying to avoid a dump truck. >> we felt the jerk on the bus and it caught us off guard. then people started screaming. >> he didn't want to be identified, but he says some riders were thrown on the floor. eight people were treated on the scene and another 12 rushed to the local hospital. and hen minutes later another muni crash in the bay view. >> we felt a really big break and then saw the glass shatter on the side. >> the mu

i'm ama dates. the 49ers confirmed that a fan who was taken away from the game in an ambulance has died. in a statement the team said the 49ers organization is deeply sattenned to hear of the passing of one of our fans earlier today. we would like to extend our heart felt condolences and prayers to his family and friends in this time of sadness. the cause of death has not been released. nearly 70,000 fans were at the first 49ers game at their new home in santa clara, but it wasn't all smooth sailing for the team and the fans. parking is the biggest issue. 134* say it was easy and others say the parking is ridiculous, but with so many fans leaving early, the true test could come with the start of the season. sergio was there. >> for the truest 49er fan, the most devoted got here early. >> i am in heavy vin right now. >> from sky 7hd you could see a packed levi stadium even up to the nose bleed section. many had to navigate a maze of traffic. >> we knew where to go, but it was turning left and turning
