but first kron four's amanda hari joins us now live in the studio with more details about the case from the federal side from those investigators. amanda. >> the criminal complaint says david to pap was prepared to detain and injure house speaker nancy pelosi when he entered her home early friday morning. it says he had brought restraining tools, including zip ties, a roll of tape and a rope into hammers. he told police he wasn't going to surrender and he would go through paul pelosi to get to the speaker. >> in a 7 page criminal complaint, a special agent with the fbi details. what happened after 42 year-old david to pap broke into house speaker nancy pelosi, san francisco home in the early morning of october 28th. the charges filed by the department of justice are assault on the immediate family member of a federal official and attempted kidnapping of a federal official. the complaint explains that the pop broke into the home through a glass door and went upstairs to the bedroom. it says, quote, pelosi was asleep when the pap came into close his bedroom and stated he wanted to talk to

well, i've amanda hari kron, 4 all right, amanda, thanks a lot. san francisco police are investigating a burglary in the marina tonight. the owners are calling this an. >> overnight break-in at the grateful dog. that's a dog day care business in this surveillance video, you can see someone walking up to the day care and and within a few get inside. it's not clear how they were able to get in so easily. the person can then be seen rummaging through the desk area. there. the store owners say the burglar got away with a brand new laptop. >> we pulled the video footage later, the gps tracker show and getting into the computer system. it's important that feel safe when dogs are here. we need if there were and here we don't think anybody would come in going forward. we might have a couple. >> just hanging around. >> well, the business owners say they've changed all the locks and they add that police have been pretty helpful so far. on the peninsula. police in daly city are looking for 2 men who they say stole about $10,000 worth of tobacco products off

amanda hari has details. >> fairfield police say this bust is all thanks to the community. they say neighbors in the area smelled the odor of the marijuana plants. as far as a block away and they reached out to police hundreds of pounds of illegal marijuana and more than 200 plants build a home in its yard. >> in this neighborhood near kentucky and 3rd streets. you can see some of it bagged up in this photo. narcotics related warrant was served on october 20th by the fairfield police department. special operations team. police say it was difficult to get inside of the home. it was gated and change it outside was a large people left to guard the home once inside. police also found 6 other dogs. but the occupants were nowhere to be found pretty. that's pretty wild. eric schaeffer says he's lived in this neighborhood for more than 20 years. he says it's changed, but he's never heard of anything like this. it just be really nice. and it got kind rough for a couple years. it's getting better now. they didn't meet them in the school. really nice. fairview elementary school is wal

amanda hari kron, 4 news. >> thanks. a lot of breaking news tonight out of los angeles. a large fire erupted at a commercial building. this is happening in the sun valley neighborhood of la. that's just north of north hollywood. you're looking at video here from the citizen app. you can see huge flames and smoke. pouring out of the building near the 5 freeway in the la fire department escalating this fire to a major emergency status and shutting down that freeway. they've dispatched more than 100 firefighters to fight the blaze that they're calling the penrose fire. we're told that this started as a brush fire and then spread to this commercial building. there is a red flag warning in effect in that area because of gusty santa ana winds. and of course, the low humidity there in southern california. we'll, of course keep you updated on this story as more information becomes available and comes in to our newsroom to the east bay now where police in oakland are looking for a car they say could be related to a possible kidnapping that is also related to domestic violence. ta

amanda hari kron, 4 news. >> and police in fremont are investigating a shooting that injured one person. it happened around one 20 saturday afternoon on school street near bodily avenue. the person who was shot is expected to survive. officers arrested officers arrested the suspected shooter shortly after and that person is in custody. police say evidence indicates the shooting wasn't random and there are no public safety concerns at this time. happening tomorrow, a potential strike at all 10 uc campuses may shut down classes throughout this week just before students are taking their final exams. union leaders say nearly 48,000 university workers will go on strike at 8 o'clock monday morning. if they are unable to reach a deal, an agreement with uc officials by then the student workers are asking for better compensation, saying many workers have less than 24,000. they make less than $24,000 a year. the union says 98% of the union voted to approve the strike. uc officials say they continue to negotiate with you. the union in good faith. and called for is your election headquarters. there
