amanda, let's talk about minimum wage here. let's show video of senator kyrsten sinema giving a thumbs down to the minimum wage being attached to this covid relief. that's a big progressive priority right now. what do you make of some of these moderate lawmakers, kyrsten sinema, joe manchin, flexing the power that they have right now? >> reporter: yeah, lindsey, i think this speaks to the larger political lens, especially with this 50-50 divide in the senate. for democrats, there are actually these very apparent divisions within their own caucus, within their own constituency of having very moderate democrats as well as progressive democrats and not being in unison. and that's something that senate majority leader chuck schumer has had to grapple with over the last couple days. and seeing those divisions play out, especially with joe manchin holding things up. carol lee made a great point when we spoke just one hour ago of saying this is supposed to be the easiest package for democrats and the white house to move forward. this

amanda: you could say the same for the markets, certainly a little bit of a swing here but the story is all about the yield and specifically that 10 year treasury. there is a look across the markets. the tech doing the worst, growth momentum stocks faring the worst. not a massive move to the downside. in the s&p 500, there are groups moving positive, all holding their own. maybe a little bit of the rotation story that we have been watching, but there is the story of the week. we've got people saying, look for 175 before the year is over. this will be with us for some time. it doesn't speak to the continued question of is a time to pivot completely into value, time to get out of growth? it feels like there is life in this market for the growth sector because we do see buying on the debts happening. matt: we do see, for example, arc is down but only about 2%. you would expect, normally, when you see a jump in the 10 year yield, stocks selloff that etf because it has some futuristic super growth companies in it, but this drop is not bad compared to what we saw last week. it seems that k

margaret cho, amanda wynn are here. and we are congressmen here with what washington can do. and we have expert advice on what you can do to counter hate in your community. american voices hate on the rise starts now. it is the question we'll work to answer over the next hour. how do you solve a problem as big and complex and deeply rooted as hate in america? just this week a new report from the intelligence community warned of the growing threat of homegrown extremism in our country. saying specifically that racially motivated extremists are those most likely to carry out a mass casualty attack. and in 2019, the fbi reported 7300 hate crimes in america, that highest in decade targeting black, lgbtq, latino, jewish and muslim communities. and since the start of the covid pandemic, there has been nearly 3800 attacks targeting asians and asian-americans according to data. that includes everything from verbal slurs to physical attacks. it is important to note all these incidents don't reflect hate crimes classified by law enforcement. what is behind the rise in these attacks? yo

manu raju is here and amanda carpenter as well. good evening to both of you.u, you had a combative exchange with representative mccarthy today when you tried to ask him about his support for former president trump trying to overturn the election. how did this all go down? >> yeah. the backdrop being actually what's happening right now in the house. there is actually a contested race for iowa, a house race, a republican who was certified the winner by just six votes in november, the closest federal race in the country. the democrat who lost that race, rita hart, is challenging that race and going through the house a very unusual process to get the house to essentially overturn her loss because she says 22 legally cast votes were not counted appropriately. democrats have not made a decision on what to do, but they are still reviewing the case and the evidence before them. now, at the same time republicans are saying that democrats are trying to steal a seat, a certified election, and they are trying to steal a seat. so today i asked kevin mccarthy how what's hap

amanda: we have course the markets here and it feels a little trigger-happy around that 1.5% that you see a major rotation out of equities and yet we know at some point there is that level at which the yield on risk-free becomes attractive enough and people will reach for it. is it on the fed's radar that there is a whole bunch of capital out there and the spikes we saw last week could be dislocating in other asset classes? michael: they know the liquidity that is going into the market has made some markets wonky. they are looking at it in a different way. the markets are looking at the move up in the fed is looking at where we're -- where were we before the pandemic? where would interest rates be? we are still below, the yield curve is below where we were in december of 2019. inflation is way below where it was in december of 10 2019. we got room to run without causing problems of the economy and that's what they are looking at. matt: scott minerd was just on and said the fed at some point we'll have to resort to operation twist. is that becoming a popular view? michael: it's becomin

amanda, good morning. the doj here calling this probe one of the largest in u.s. history. >> reporter: that's right, lindsey. the justice department has now asked a federal judge for more time as they continue to investigate the events of january 6th, and especially before they lead up to a trial for nine suspected members or followers of the oath keepers. that's one of those far-right antigovernment militia groups that was involved with the events of january 6th and the riots we saw take place at the capitol. and as you noted, they are saying that this filing could be historic as one of the largest in american history, both due to the volume of evidence and tips and other parts of their investigation that they are receiving. so, to break down a bit, we also get a snapshot of just exactly where this investigation stands. and they noted that there are -- according to a doj official, they have now seen 320 people have been charged. in this court filing on friday, they said they expected to bring charges to an additional 100 individuals in the coming days and weeks.
