>> yeah, so amd has been an interesting one. they've kind of missed numbers every quarter last year and it almost didn't matter because they were able to create this a.i. narrative, and then backing it up in some sense, right, they've got a road map with products on it. they've got some clear demand, and they set up expectations for the a.i. piece of it very smartly. they set the number -- i think they said they were going to do more than $2 billion in a.i. revenues, that number is small relative to the general scale of the industry, and so they probably left room to take it up. now, i do worry some what about the rest of their business, like we've been seeing for several quarters, you know we'll see about pcs, i think they're sort of the general data center, like traditional data center market not so great. the embedded business is down double digits, gaming will be down 20%. it's entirely possible that the core business could still be weak but as long as people can have comfort in that a.i. story, maybe it still gets bought an

wasn't really being discussed that much, but definitely has been in play in the ai space lately is amd. of the names reporting next week that was the busiest stock option and that is implying a move of 8.3% that's actually significantly larger than the 7% or so that it is averaged over the last eight reported quarters. meta is the second biggest move basically in the -- in this category of stock. that is implying a move of 6.7%. that's lower than average but that's because over the last eight quarters they had absolutely wild moves. both cases it was the upside calls expiring next that were busiest going into earnings and in the case of amd, it was the 180 strike calls shy of 20,000 of those trade for 7.5 bucks that would take the stock to a new all-time high and hit a high yesterday and meta, basically the same story, the 395 calls expiring next week, saw over 6,000 trading. we're just under $15 a contract and those traders are betting the stock could exceed 410 or so after they report. >> wow tim, what concerns you about next week specifically >> we have a couple -- it's a massive we

an end, another one contracting because i gave a week revenue forecast for the current period -- amd, another one contracting. similar to what we saw with intel. qqq is the eta that tracks the nasdaq, and that is dropping, but let's change off because we just had futures coming online, and a picture here is a bit of weakness ahead of the open. traders sifting through those earnings, but you've also got the fed decision coming up. treasury issuance, jobs numbers as well as -- jobs numbers as well, so there's a big focus on the days ahead. paul: let's get more detail on those earnings from our technology reporter. let's start with microsoft, a beat on revenue and profit. what were the key drivers of that performance? jackie: digging into some of the figures, the main number we have to look at, that investors care about, is that azure cloud services unit growth. that came in at about 30% compared to last quarter. that beat expectations, and the company said that about six percentage points of this actually came from ai-related services. this is good news, given investors were looking for
