storm team 4 meteorologist amelia draper joins us now. so now we're not just talking about the temperatures and the wind but now our concern shifts to the possibility of black ice on the roads. >> yeah, exactly, erika. anything that wasn't cleared throughout the day today is going to turn to solid ice tonight as temperatures plummet into the teens and with blustery winds out there as well. take a look at our storm system first on storm team 4 radar. you can see the entire area now dry as this storm takes aim mainly for parts of new england. we're dry for the rest of the weekend, but bundle up. it's 23 degrees out there right now. winds out of the northwest at 13 miles an hour. so look at how cold it feels when you factor in the winds right now. feeling about 9 in frederick and gaithersburg, 11 here in the district and blustery from start to finish tomorrow. here's what you're going to be waking up to at 7:00 a.m. on your sunday, feeling about 1 degree below in gaithersburg, about 2 in manassas. it doesn't get much better. coming up in my

amelia draper joinins of us could be seeing tonight and into tomorrow.. >> we're really going to start to see snow showers move into the d.c. metro area around midnight. most of it is going to be out of here by about 5:00, 6:00 a.m., but it's all about the timing as to why we're under a weather alert mode and why the national weather service has issued a winter advisory in all of the areas in purple until 7:00 a.m. monday. it could slow down the rush hour as we're getting back into our normal routine. a coating to maybe two inches across the entire area. the main road is going to be okay tomorrow morning, just wet. this is a low to moderate impact event, almost bordering on kind of a conversational event. the temperatures aren't very cold out there, so as snow falls, it will stick to the grass. it will have difficulty accumulating on roads. that's a great thing unless you want to stay home from work tomorrow. not a lot of moisture to work with, with this system as well. it's over abou seeing a lot of crews across the entire area treating the roads. here'
