now in a statement, american airlines says it actually was coming from a passenger's laptop inside of their bag. now, the airline says that they were able to remove the back and evacuate all passengers through emergency slides and others to the jet bridge. now 3 passengers were injured and one didn't require medical transportation. again, this is american airlines flight 2, 0, 4, 5, heading to miami and san francisco fire department did respond was able to put out the smoke and we caught up with a resident who was picking up her friend from the airport. he says incidents like this could make airlines change the rules when it comes electronics. don't think that's the first one that's ever. >> caught on fire or anything like that. there's not much you can do about it. if you're going to have to take those kind of things on the plane, anything you can do is get some research and development out of industry to to try improve the batteries or whatever root cause of the thing is because can't just let continue on for >> forever. and all passengers were taken back to the gate around 01:00pm.
