delta airlines has outpaced american as well. it had the issue with crowdstrike. crowdstrike tries to get that suit dismissed. but it's been a pretty decent year for airlines, because the consumer has been pretty good in wanting to travel and spend. >> the demand is there. business travel has come back. international travel has come back. we thought there would be this big surge he pent-up demand. but it feels like there's a long tail for this. when i go to the airports, they're always packed. the good news for travelers is that pricing has come down a little bit. air fares were sky high over the last few years coming out of covid as demand surged. they've come back a little bit to earth. the monthly cpi report on inflation, it's been elevate zmrd there's your morning look at a little bit of volatility in the shares as this story broke during "squawk box." back to some semblance of normal within a reasonable period of time. the situation went from faa groundstop to resuming flights and boarding. >> there will be questions on the technical, what issue. why it happen

a glitch delayed about 900 american airline flights. american airlines issued a ground stop on all its flights at around 7:00 this morning. the airline had a computer problem that affected the operating system, in charge of letting flights leave the gate. fortunately, american and its computer vendor were able to fix the problem pretty quickly, and the ground stop only lasted about an h hour. bay area travelers were relieved that it didn't last longer. you didn't even know there was a stoppage. came to get your. yeah, i just came regular time. relieved to hear the news that this is not going to affect your christmas plans. very much so. yes. just trying to get home. all airlines face some delays today because of winter weather throughout the country, but american had the most with san francisco's half billion dollar plan to renovate fisherman's wharf. moving forward, members of the commercial fishing industry are raising some concerns. supervisors approved a preliminary plan this month. it calls for a $550 million overhaul that would in
