smoke and fires looting and burning and chaos in major american cities despite curfews in effect and tens of thousands of people across america protest the death of george floyd. it's now 2:00 a.m. on the east coast and 11:00 p.m. on the west coast. i am rick leventhal in los angeles. these curfews having little effect in keeping people off the streets. in minneapolis or other major metropolitan areas from new york to los angeles with police making at least 1400 arrests and 17 u.s. cities since thursday and many more are arrested tonight including in chicago. window smashed and stores looted in squad cars torched in damage producing violent clashes between demonstrators and police. new york city streets were a wild scene earlier with multiple clashes and arrest their presumption or windows broken and as you can see police cars set on fire. one woman was charged with the murder of four nypd officers for allegedly hurling a molotov tail into their police van while they were inside. lawmakers in california and nevada and numerous other states calling on the national guard to help. here
