thank you supervisors i'm tony gonzales with american indian movement west. i share the same as what was said earlier i content the supervisors for taking the position to change legislation to include the particular tactic of harassment by landlords etc. i'm not just speaking for my organization as a vietnam veteran and the westerns that are here it facts many people. it's a shame that the rich culture that the city has projected to the outer public is in the state of problems right now. there's a lot of resentment we see those big buses that driving around here that creates the resentment to the topic. we hope there's a a balance to keep our people's here all the superdomes of society and in particular our art and cultural workings are being affected. like a brain drain that goes on in other countries there's a cultural drain here for us to maintain the cultures is to also find ways thinking about the artist in our communities and filmmakers and those who are trying to stay here and work inform the community have a hard time finding a plays to thank you very

wounded knee creek in pine ridge which is why paul da along with other activists from the american indian movement shows the symbolic place to stage an occupation at a time where tribal tensions over treaty negotiations ran high but guys these are the days of cointelpro of course the f.b.i. was on the case what resulted was a seventy one day arm the standoff between activists and u.s. law enforcement the end of the occupation marked the beginning of a three year long period of violence between supporters and opponents of the tribal government. who are working with the f.b.i. to fight the activist movement there at the height of the unrest yet another conflict broke out of the pine ridge out with a gun smoke cleared two federal agents lay dead along with one native american three members of the pine ridge reservation were arrested in connection with the shooting and while two of the men were tried and waited all day fled to canada before being extradited back to be you west and given a separate trial. although a multitude of evidence was withheld during the trial putting up a list proving the deadl
