the indian education programming title vi supports the academic needs of the american indian students in the san francisco unified school district. the parent advisory council is a group of parents and teachers that help determine the indian education goals and advices on distribution of funds for the program services that will be provided. they elect new representatives each year. currently, our elected pac members for the 2019-2020 year. lisa miller, chair, secretary is me, student representative is kai anderson. teacher representative amy anderson, parent representativ representatives. indian education program staff coordinator flores and mentor/tutor lucas agular. you can see some of our brief timeline of native-american history. i am going to go over a few. you can read the rest. in 1879, carlisle indian school was the first established boarding school to colonize american indian children. it was a great experiment led by general richard pratt. in 1924 indian citizenship act. we as native people were the last people to have citizenship for our own land. not even all states honore

i believe it's called san francisco american indian center, and then later on, it's called the nativemerican center. i think it's important for different leaders who have lived in this community have correctly represented. it's a bit of a sad to me that we can only go by archaeological positions and not fact. another thing that commissioner matsuda said, we need to be focused on the community representation process because community representation are the ones that have the resources to show up in the meetings, but that might not be the community representation of the entire native community. so organizations that i'm aware of, in addition to what's being listed in this ordinance are this one called the association of ramatush ohlone, which is an acronym. i'm probably missing a lot of the groups that i'm not aware of at this moment. i really believe we're doing the right thing, and i believe we need to be inclusive. this community has been displaced systematically, and i think we need to do the right thing and be the trailblazer in this. the other part of it is i also need to be placi

a lot of american indian tribes in this area were not happy about it. the great war chief tecumseh decided to band together with a bunch of native american tribes and allied himself with the british to fight that encroachment into their territory. construction of the fort began in 1813. it is winter in northwest ohio at the time. it was a really hard thing to do, build a fort of those size. whoe were 3500 men here worked night and day. they got it finished by the end of april of the same year. the cold was bad at the fort. there were no derricks for the soldiers -- barracks for the soldiers. they put up things that would be used tfor defense. it was a really rough place to be in this territory. there are all kinds of threats. you have hostile native american tribes. and with 3500 men here, you have disease, injuries, on top of everything else they are dealing with. this sort in particular -- fort in particular is of different design than typical forts of the time. if you look at the overview of the fort, it follows the lay of the land. foot bluff on a 40
