president of american institute, the american institute for economic research, we have edward stringer. good to see you both. jon, start with you, investors freaking out over a good thing, expectation of inflation, something a normal economy should have, right? >> trish, i would say there is a few things going on right now. one is we're getting what i would call a spasm of volatility. i wouldn't call it necessarily a return of volatility. but we're getting this spasm and reason it is happening is that a lot of traders on wall street were invested in vehicles that bet against market volatility. and what's happening is some of these trades are unwinding. and those trades unwind, it creates more volatility. so, you know, i think that is a spasm still is playing out and why we're seeing markets go up and down a lot. trish: is that related to algorithms and computers that are doing all this? >> it is related to products that were created because we had so many years of calm markets that people made bets we would continue to have this calm. these bets piled up, what happens when they start u

is it time to put on the brakes, we bring sean and edward of the american institute for economic research this too good to be true, sean, is this rebound for real? we have been up this week by 5% for the most part. yesterday we finished at the highs of the session, that's a good sign? >> i think that's a good sign. we are still 5% of the all-time high. we still have room to go before we race all the way back. i think the correction that we had was needed, we had almost two years uninterrupted without a correction. i think there was a couple of things that spooked the market, perhaps, threat of inflation and maybe rising rates. yesterday the day before with two bad prints having the market go up maybe sets that aside a little bit and i think that, you know, that maybe we are underestimating some of the problematic and there's a lot of structureed products and notes that had an issue and that forced program selling. i think a lot of that is out of the way and i still don't think the fundamentals are solid. lawyer raur in your view, edward, did anything change this week versus last week beca
