why has it been such a difficult problem for america to resolve? >> ultimately, if you look at our interaction with police and people of african descent we are being treated the same way we always have. we've been at the hands of authorities for all kinds of things. when they say obeying the law, there are all kinds of laws, more than three of us couldn't gather at one time, laws that wecouldn't read , couldn't vote, laws that we were supposed to live in certain places. there have been all kinds of laws that are designed to do what they're doing now : keep us in their place and out of places where they don't and i think that it's not changed significantly. whenever you see a young black man or black woman getting the police call on them for barbecuing or selling water, it's because somebody feels like those people are out of place and these interactions often have, i don't know if the consequences are unintended they go in directions that i don't think most people could anticipate. there's a pretty good chance that something violent or disturbing w
