then when tom ammiano ran against willie brown, i got inspired. i thought, someone with integrity and honesty, if they can run for mayor, maybe i can be somebody who represents what is true about our people. that is what inspired me to run and be a candidate. one thing this year that i really tackling, and i expect to for a long time, looking at me and how it operates in my district. san francisco, we talk about it being a transit first city, but it does not mean a lot if transit is not very well thought out in places away from downtown. my district is where we need to create better options. all the way down to randall street, there is no accessible boarding areas for the church. there is a woman that lives in a wheelchair on santa rosa. she has to go across to glen park to get out transit. >> those new stations, those are the ones that we are going to have to depend on. >> along balboa park station, near geneva, i have been pushing hard to get ramps for pedestrians. right now, it is dangerous to cross the street. i want to insure the department o

i never thought that a candidate would be someone that i would support, but when tom and ammiano ran for mayor against willie brown, somehow, i got inspired. i thought, it someone that has integrity and honesty, that comes from the community, could run for mayor, maybe it is we something that can represent the community. i wanted to look at it from a candid perspective. >> when you did run for the border supervisors, what did you learn from that experience, from the campaign? >> from the campaign? so much. you knock on a lot of doors, talk to a lot of people. some of the things were interesting, how connected a lot of people were to their schools, communities. people were involved in their communities in some many ways. we have neighborhood organizations. there are so many people actively involved in the communities, neighborhoods, our organizations, child care facilities, relationships with seniors, at the park. that was something exciting to see. there were multiple ways for people to be involved as residents and members of the city. i was stunned by just how many artists were in d

first of all, i just want to say that it is important for us to thank assemblymen ammiano and state senator leno. one of the amendments i wanted to introduce today is in the state housing plan. currently, it says the for the two years from the closing of the navy agreement, the maximum public financing provisions are made to i s the law, but are there other options so that funding becomes available as a would have been under california redevelopment law, so there is a 25% of nestle become 30%. i just want to extend that to five years to ensure that we have the time that we need to get to the plan that many of us are supporting. that will be my one amendment. supervisor chu: could you provide a copy of what those amendments would be? if i understand correctly, that would be an amendment to the underlying development agreement? in the situation, would we have to revert back to anywhere for a change in the underlying agreement because it is not in the resolution, or in the document before us? >> this kind of change would be made to the agreement, not to the legislation itself, and it is not of
