landslides temporarily shut down amtrak passenger train service between portland and seattle in oregon, two bodies were found in portland area creeks. and emergency teams are been racing from rescue to rescue, as people have found themselves stranded in rising water, and the threat isn't over yet. let's bring in angie lassman for more on the latest storm headed west >> we have another storm on tap, no surprise there. this has been one after another for folks in the pacific northwest. really haven't been able to get a break over the past couple days and we've got more rain on the way. this system not quite as robust as what the last one was it h it will be a little weaker, a little cooler. rainfall on already-saturated grounds is not somethingthat will surprise you if we see flooding across that region today. we'll see snow spreading into the northern plains, lingering over parts of the rockies. we will have the potential for strong storms to fire up in portions of the plains rainfall totals end up about a quarter to a half an inch. we could see a foot of snow in the higher elevations.
