i'm amy cohen. i'm the executive director of the honey w center for civic engagement and public service here at george washington university. we are the central hub for all things community and civic engagement and one of the co-sponsors for this evening's exciting conversation. and i'm really happy to see you all. now i am delighted to introduce you to the president of the george washington university, dr. mark wrighton. president wrighton a highly distinguished career academically in chemistry and holds many academic and civic honors. he was the chancellor of washington university in st. louis for 24 years prior to joining us at g.w. in january of 2022. we're delighted to have him as our president and we are delighted to have him here this evening. president wrighton? when justice ginsburg passed and we saw amy cohen barrett on the horizon, we got serious about what toolst to make her own decisions around her body. in michigan, we were poised to go from being a proud pro choice state to a state that would go back 91 years making is a felony, no exceptions. so i use every tool in my tool box, because of that, it empowered this initiative to a matter of constitution, which was critical in this election that just happened a week ago. now, in michigan, we have enshrined these rights into our state constitution. so this shows, i think, if we are eager to jump into the fray and unapologetic about living our values, focusing on solving problems, that is how we create a path that others can find themselves on. i think this was really important and this election. it was not having gerrymandering districts, it was putting twice before the voters and it was ensuring that we had a vision where there is an opportunity for every person. that is really what people should demand of their leaders. >> i got to ask you about the gerrymandering thing, because that seems c

chief operating officer for oewd and joined today by amy cohen, our director of public space for generation who oversees the mid market grant agreement before you today. steve gibson and elaine miller and louie are here with us. the proposed resolution would approve amendment number one to an a grant agreement between oewd and the market foundation for management of the mid market tenderloin safety program. my apologies, next slide. this grant funds the on going deployment of safety ambassadors in the tenderloin community that many of us see on our daily commutes into city hall. next slide. a brief overview of the program, this is a partnership between oewd and the market foundation and urban alcami, it covers 80 blocks faces and you see that on the map on the slide above you, postings are from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and 7 days a week. approximately 225 ambassadors are deployed to posting throughout the neighborhood. next slide. the mid market foundation proactively addresses mid markets evolving knees through comprehensive support for business owners. the mid market program led implementat
