i think, who are intending to run, whether it be amy klobuchar, kirsten gillibrand, kamala harris. because again, i think that really is a movement that we have seen from democratic voters. you know, you have the two candidates who came up short, or actually three candidates who came up short but really made a name for themselves. andrew gillum, stacey abrams and beto o'rourke, and a couple other categories. the businessmen, mike bloomberg and howard schultz. i'm not sure what their case will be, and governors, governor bullock, hickenlooper. i think it's going to be -- the ideal candidate, if joe biden decides not to run, i think is a woman. maybe a woman of color. who can excite the base and who the base believes is someone who can take trump on, you know, head to head, and not shy away or shrink away. >> interesting in this poll, you can look at the positives, but if you also look at the net negatives as indicators here, when you look at it, cory booker, kamala harris, beto o'rourke, they have net positives, folks excited about them to run versus the folks who don't want them to

. >> i will tell you what i worry about as a republican, amy klobuchar, she can be very controversial she were to jump in the race i really think she might be a strong point. >> you also have kamala harris out there, i was looking at throwing her hat in the ring. she's been pretty divisive i would argue, and i think she has been someone who really has tried to make this push towards identity politics. does identity politics even work anymore, given that it didn't fly with hillary clinton? >> what we will see with kamala harris is she has to come to a count with her record as an attorney general in california and see if that plays well with the base going forward. but something that's important to remember, after the holidays we will have a better idea of who is in and who is out. this is an incredibly crowded field and because it's so crowded, whoever wins the nomination doesn't need the majority, they only need a plurality. that gives voters more choice, absolutely. it means that we are not going to necessarily have a consensus candidate at the end of the day. and that clears the lan

amy klobuchar her name also got included. there are interesting disparities between white and black voters. different preferences seemed to emerge. a couple worth highlighting, these are numbers among white voters saying they're excited about the possibility of candidacies. if you compare it to what you get among black voters, a couple of things jumped out. warren, we just show you those numbers were upside down for her. more black voters saying they're excited about the idea of warren running than white voters. kamala harris, a double digit edge, sanders as well. then flip it with o'rourke, two to one white voters more excited about the idea of him running. biden near majority of white voters, two-thirds of black voters. that was a majority overall saying they're excited. interesting early patterns here. there are other names out there that are not tested. sherrod brown comes to mind, but it is an interesting early look. candidates deciding whether to take a shot at it. just this question of how receptive potentially is the
