those first shots rang out about 20 minutes into the new amy schumer movie "trainwreck." at the time there were about 100 salespeople seated -- people seated. for this mike hydeck. >> reporter: well police are saying it was a white man in his late 350s who went into the theater by himself 20 minutes into the movie the "trainwreck" he pulled out a gun and then started shooting. he killed two people sitting right in front of him and then kept on firing wounding nine others. one of is people is in critical condition right now and this morning police are processing the shell casings from that semiautomatic handgun that was used in the shooting. they say they were able to get some information off that weapon to help them in the investigation. but even still, the question remains why? >> just standing up, just -- shooting at the whole crowd. for who knows what. >> that's the big question. that's the -- that's what everybody is wondering, why, why would this guy come here to this theater and just start randomly shooting people? we just -- it's too early to have any of those answ
