it has been an unusually dry february for an el el nino. so far this month santa rosa has not received anywhere close, three quarters of an inch. san francisco just over an inch this year. in 98 it was different and if you were around many of us remember the strong event more than 10 inches for february in san jose. so far a third of an inch. i can't bring you a big el nino storm, but i can bring you back encouraging news. we have been ranking these storms from 1:00 to 5:00 and this has been something that we have been doing. it is a one. it is a light system for your friday. scattered showers and less than a 10th of an inch. look at your hour by hour time line. it is not only fog, but clouds around. it will be a cooler day. it will be noticible. then we head into the afternoon. a few showers develop at 4:00 p.m. by 5:00 p.m. evening rush will include wet roadways. san francisco and the paw peninsula and it makes it to the south by by around 7:00 p.m. and then it is all done. it is a quick mover. we'll get showers out of it and not much wind

in the big el nino, back in 98 and 82, for february doing 230, 240 for an average and this february 38%. february, el nino has been a bust. el nino is not gun and el nino is still here and hopefully it will light itself out for march and it very well could and february was not a powerful el nino. as i pointed out, it typically is and at least the baseline samples, we got two ones to work with. and the two were 240% of average and this bun, thus far has been about 30% of average for february. so there you go. there is the pressure center and you see it slipping through. that system comes in and as we head to friday. and it brings us a chance of sprinkle or two as we head to tomorrow afternoon. here is tonight. and then here goes tomorrow morning. and the commute and here goes check it out. there is the showers around 2:00. and it moves through quick. that could accumulate to the tune of maybe 10th of an inch or a quarter if we are lucky. forecast highs tomorrow, cool and milder than it was a month ago and the five-day forecast looks like that. so it is good. what is interesting about february. we were

on the drought concerns we've been in drought situations for a long time an el nino winter this winter not likely to have two el nino winter back to back from the trees get a punch if the irrigation there guess decay present injuries present and some of the branches and general reduced vigor i don't think an el nino winter is enough to help the trees this is very reasonable request to approve for removal the 11 trees st. francis wood that manages a lot of trees across their domain and this is the first time in a while we've received a tree application from them regarding the species the red maple the large tree at maturity a different look and feel a lot of the trees in st. francis wood are eucalyptus are evergreen, however, we defer to hoa whenever we've initiated the plan for new trees along the block every time we remove an individual tree even when like market street or delores you know that you can expect to plant a similar species everyone wants to say choose their own tree it is like when you're in elementary school if you give one period of time a cookie you need to provide everyone with what they want

an el niÑo season. it's not active for us. in terms of producing rain it's producing swell. we talked about that. but it's really been light on the rain. february has been a bust for an elinly. it's not over yet, but it's over. march hopefully it will come on. scattered showers, up to a half inch of rain north up around occidental, up around bo day ga bay, which was great, but san francisco got .15679 as you work your way south down towards fremont and areas south of san jose you basically got zero, trace amounts. if you are traveling across the country they're having a heck of a setup with this warm weather. we've had our run of warm weather. now this area down here is getting ready for some heat. maybe some record heat for this time of year. this is tomorrow. dallas, downtown dallas, 76 degrees. you see those oranges? those are 80s in parts of texas and oklahoma. not a bad day. even warm in new york, 5 2. if you're traveling tomorrow that's what you can expect in terms of temperature spread. sunday will be a little bit different but not much. this system that's moving through now moves through, the high pressure builds back in and temperatures go back up. so this patt
