that's what i think ana navarro would like to come back and a number of other republicans. but it's not what, as jim noted, other republicans want to come back, tolu, does it, or are things just different now? >> that's just not where the energy is in the party at the moment. former president trump really flipped the script on how to be a president and how to be someone who loses a presidential election. he did not concede to joe biden. he did not have any gracious words for the new incoming president, even though we are in difficult times as we were back in 2008. instead he cast doubt on the legitimacy of the election and got millions of voters to believe that a free and fair election was tainted or was rigged. now he's forcing a litmus test for any other republican that wants to get his endorsement, that wants to get his support, that wants to survive within the party is to essentially sign onto this big lie and say, yes, there was something wrong with the election in 2020 and we have to pass all of these new voter restriction laws and voter suppression laws across the co

ana navarro, it's clear that the majority of the republican party in terms of her party officials andccording to polls they're with trump, not with her. so how do you or liz cheney or mia love, how do you begin to wage that fight? >> with principle, with conviction. look, jake, there's something very liberating about doing something because you believe it's the right thing to do not the politically exped yents thing to do. not the easy thing to do it might cost you friends. it might have professional consequences but you're doing the right thing. there's this peace of mind and this resoluteness that coming from looking at yourself in the mirror and knowing you have a back bone and you have the principles and are putting the country first. i see that peace of mind in liz cheney. i see that resoluteness, and that belief and confidence that acting according to your conscience gives you. you're not doing it to be in the majority. you're doing it because your conscience is dictating that you stick to the truth and to facts and to patriotism and put the country over a cult to a faux demigod
