anacostia across the river with areas like the navy yard and the new baseball stadium. officials say that is changing and one big step was taken today. this used to be a working bridge until this morning. it is shut down now and is never going to open again. they are going to knock it down. in its place what open up this morning is right over here. this is the new 11th street bridge. the bigger deal of this project is above it. that bridge in the distance is going to be a way to get from the east of the city to areas like capitol hill and downtown d.c. without one traffic light. you can see there are already cars on it, but the project is not really finished yet. it will take 30-45 days to open up the bigger part of it. you will be able to go to areas like the capital, all the way to arlington, without one single traffic light. this is the biggest road project in the history of the district of columbia, $300 million is the cost. there will be a lot of pain in the neighborhoods because they are setting up the final stages before they can open up that one part into the ci
