the project is all about cleaning up the anacostia river and the potomac.that takes 100 feet underground still cutting through, creating tunnels for the past two years. the purpose of this is to essentially not to have to pour billions of sewage and storm water into the rivers when it rains. the water will be channeled through a four-point five-mile tunnel to a treatment plant. >> the anacostia flows into the potomac, which flows into the chesapeake. we are all interested in the viability of the chesapeake. the chesapeake is in bad shape so this helps the cleanliness of the chesapeake bay. jeannette: ultimately, the potomac river will be swimming hole and fishable. this project will be completed by 2018.

getting more comfortable with anacostia, and they are priced out of a lot of d.c. neighborhohoods. incomes have not risen fast enough in d.c. to match the appreciation in home naturally, you will have more people spread and we are starting to see the limits of gentrification tested. rebecca: for the family that have led in anacostia for cades and have homes, to have this increased value, does that compensate or justification drivg some of these families out, or is it more lost than gain? peter: whenever you have gentrification, redevelopmenent of a region, whenever city folk go to a recreational area are away that they had nobefore, la values go up, and the people sitting there start to get prpriced down. if we arare worried about at, we would still one or 2 million people pressed between appalachian mountains and the tidewater. rebecca: we have to worry about that in the ty. there is notot enough housing in the city. unless we want to be aity that isis only for the wealthy, we have to worry about this. peter: they're will be displacement and they will go to other

jay: leon, she works here at anacostia high school last year. now she is out of jail without bond from baltimore county jail, charged with attempted first-degree murder. the police allege sunday that lisa findley tossed gasoline on her boyfriend, then threaten to set him on fire and baltimore county. he fled and when he returned, the house was on fire. the fire was put out and finley arrested. according to d.c. police schools, she is an educational aid at anacostia high school. when her employment begins in the fall she will be placed on leave because of this incident. finley lives in this neighborhood in northeast washington. >> shocked. it's a very quiet neighborhood. jay: this neighbor said the circumstances surrounding her rest come as a shock. >> you never know truly your neighbors are. jay: finley is also charged with first-degree assault and first-degree arson. jay korff, abc 7 news. leon: in the district, on the hill, and emotional hearing about immigration. lawmakers picking to the families of victims who were murdered by illegal immigr
