rates and increasing rents and stabilizing employment, and growing tax revenue and usage fee and stable mode share and we have a few lingering effects in terms of the slow down and development where we have not had any approved long term parking spaces or public art, in that redevelopment last year, the report that you have front of you has a summary page that has detailed numbers around these summary parameters and i would like to take you through and highlight a couple of those right now. you know that downtown has 72 million of office space and that is 64 percent and it has 9.7 million and which is 16 percent of the retail and it has about 20,000 hotel rooms which is about 60 percent of the hotels city wide. and in terms of residential, there are about 16,000 units located in the c3 district and that is about 4 percent of the city wide total. in terms of upcoming development in the pipeline, you can see that we have about three quauters of a million square feet of office space slated for downtown, and that is about 7 percent of the 9.9 million total in the pipeline. and we have got a

to mtc and the air district for being great partners and i am excited to do this and we are going to have more safer lanes throughout the city, the city of san francisco is already completed over 217 miles, bicycle lanes, where we are putting hundreds of bike racks up and we are getting facilities, situated where the people need them and it should not be a big surprise that south of the market area, where jane kim represents, that that is the hottest area of bicycle use in all of san francisco. and it is concentrated in that area because that is where a lot of our technology workers and new small business workers are working and they need the state routes between the home and cal train and downtown and all of the areas and so we are working hard on that so this is a great exciting news and finally a bike sharing program that our mta is proud of. and the pass mayor, continued to call me up saying where are you getting my bike share program started? and so, of course, the governor we get to say that we got it started, now we are into expansions already. and i can't wait to get on this

and attorneys and students and i want to echo the comments of everyone else and support the ordinance without carve outs and i want to address the comment thases the chief made. i was shocked to hear that anyone convicted of a certain felony are not welcome in san francisco. i think we heard from people today that law enforcement has significant discretion and that leads to problematic consequences and people held in detention centers for eight months. law enforcement has the discretion who they arrest and everyone else has discretion. it will never be enough. they always want more authority than they have and we need to set the line here and say that everybody is going to be treat d the same regardless of documentation status. i think the values of san francisco are that we don't welcome people here because of something they did in the past and having carve outs is absolutely the wrong decision and i want to thank you for your defense of the ordinance as it is without carve outs and we know it's not an issue of public safety. it's an issue much public rights for everyone in san franc

and bright line and all of the folks in the audience and the affirmative action and our staff, and david golden and the legal council, and it is wonderful to hear not just to see the documents, and everything that is in it and that there was an agreement but also to hear that the process was as positive of an experience it was and i hope that it can be the standard and i know that there is a lot more work that needs to be done on this to make it happen and there is a lot that we still need to figure out and a lot that we are required to do together. moving forward and i hope that we can continue to have that spirit of partnership as we move forward, and i also echo the issue of the threshold, and we have this conversation last time and i continued to believe that if we think that this is the standard that we should have for everyone, and it should be for everyone. and that is something that you know we had a conversation about last time and we talked about when we used the public dollars we use it in a way that reflects our values and that is what the local hire was about and that is wha

atmosphere and clouds in the oceans and seas and looked at climate models and considered projectionsg and near term change. the last report from the panel on climate change concluded that climate change is occurring and the emission of greenhouse gasses is likely to be the cause. a small number of errors were used by skeptics to cast doubt on the report and said it over played warming predictions, sea level rise and the role played by greenhouse gasses. the last u.n. report had risks to a broad range of human and natural systems. this report is expected to build on that, taking in more scientific data to give the world's governments, businesses and citizens the best possible idea of what is happening to the earth and what is likely to happen in the years ago. al jazeera. >> reporter: and the president says he will attend the u.n. general assembly despite being wanted by the international criminal court on genicide charges but she didn't say that the united states granted him a visa yet. >> translator: attending the general assembly is our right. it's our right of the united states it

and the clock will be ticking and there will be ten hours and the game of ping-pong back and forth andate fund the government. and the it remains the stand off and ten hours, the question is whether or not ping-pong becomes hot potato. should they be able to send it back to the house. and will the house of representative be left holding the ball and the republican majority would have failed to avert a shutdown. there is a lot of more steps to happen in the next few days. by the time we get to monday it could be in the septemb-- senat republicans. it could be a couple of short hours and the government would be technically shut it down before they get a deal on monday morning. they could get through the night with overtime. >> and the option that the president could use excutive fiat if he could delay it beyond the midnight dead line. >> there are whispers around the hill go for a ten day extension. this is an ongoing negotiation since obama care was passed into law. and opposition to it and no republican voted for. it and the two sides are at odds on this. and the idea of a miraculous c

and again and again. and that's true in every court. i mean you have seven, nine is harder to work with than seven. >> much harder. i was going to say this. and you know, there's wonderful justice that takes place right across the united states but one of the problems that goes back to the elected judges is the constraints taken off. if justice breyer is on the supreme court of the state, and i run against him to defeat him, and say not just to criticize the decision, but to say he's a skunk and a liar, and he's in the pay of big business or labor. it makes relationships harder when you're on the court. and i am seeing, in cases right around this country, a fracturing of the collegiality of the state supreme court. it doesn't have to do with elected judges. we've had elected judges since the middle of the 19th century and they've worked well. but when you begin to change the rules and there are more states, and watch them in your states, and watch them elsewhere, where there are fights that are very publi
