taxi and identify, you know, at&t, park and the ferry building, and fisherman's wharf and so forth and so the major destinations along the water front, and the northern in particular. and the vast majority willing to pay ten million or less for such a trip and we also, our consultant interviewed a number of stake holders including the current water trabs sit operators and sf travel, rita and some of the or some of our development partners like the giants. and the warriors when they were looking at 30, 32, and again, you have got, more results in the attachment that i want to highlight a couple of things strong support from the stake holders and you know, i think that importantly, everyone pretty much agreed that it was, this was an add on, and not a competitor to the ferry, because obviously we have, quite robust ferry system already. and some of the stake holders expressed a little bit of skepticism about really the market opportunity in terms of it being you know, something that has a lot of potential to turn the profits and which, kind of leads me to the next slide and i want to tal

and safety and noise and traffic use and the odor, control and we definitely are looking at a state of the art system and we have not landed on one and here is an example of something that exists in bright water, which have been able to achieve the zero odors behind the fence line which is our goal as well. to walk you through the analysis process, we started with the world of opportunities, and the options and we looked at everything that was out there in the bio solid world today and there, narrowed that down to four to five valuable alternatives. and we then took those four alternatives, and one subset, and then, we did a further detailed analysis and got it down to two and then put them against each other to come up with a recommendation that we are moving forward with deeper analysis in order to conclude our alternative and analysis report. >> did you say scrub? >> yeah. >> so, we wanted to walk you through the alternatives that were considered. and but not advanced and in that kind of opening world of options. and we did look at aeroibic digestion, being the process that happe

level and the youth enrichment programs and like a pri and others, it is, and they or the students at that level, or especially in the under served communities like the bay view hunter's point yeah and how the opportunities are in the community and learn that they create the jobs and has the opportunity that it has in san francisco, and i think that opens their eyes to future potential. >> and one of the thing that i will mention is that there have been a lot of concerns about the challenges of african american students and residents from the bay view being able to get jobs in the tech community and we asked the trade association representing the technology companies in san francisco, to work with the boys and girls club particularly in the bay view, and in the fillmore and in the other under served neighborhood $to be sure that everyone no wants a mentor ship and a young boy or a girl and we received a commitment from the trade association representing the tech community that we will get one and i wonder if there is a similar situation that we could figure out again for the tourism.

and we have citizens who are sophisticated and engaged and care passionately about our city and that is something that we do embrace and that is what i want to see how to get more people involved in the advisory commissions or whatever other ways that we can turn to those that want to provide the input in the processes. emphasizing what did and did not work, and look at what happens, over the last few, years. and we do update that plan, and approximately, five years, and so, you know, not only are you looking at what happens since we implemented the plan but what has changed in the last five years and i know that the short time that i have been on the commission i am stunned at the number of things that have gone forward and the projects from parks to museums and to all sorts of things and i still think that pier 70 is one of the most exciting things to happen to the city and the kutos that are come ng and it is a testament to the lessons learned being played out. and the commissioner helped to point it out and we don't have that many areas where the projects can go forward. we have

and red verses blue and 22nd and bryant and we heard about numerous shootings and homicides, it was completely different than tonight, while miss brown, i know that people continue to work on your son's homicide and we promise that will never leave our radar screen, but that meeting in the mission it was just about pure mayhem that was taking place and i think that a lot to do was the chief and the men and women and the san francisco police department and captain i know that you were involved back then when you were in the narcotics and you had a significant role in doing what cleaned up the mission district and now it is the captain and so i have to tell you that it is incredible progress out here in the mission and it is just great to be here tonight and it is a much, much different circumstance, but we can't do it without the community and i want to thank all of you for taking an active role from john and safe and everybody in this room and that is important because the community is and it is symbolic that you know, garfield park belongs to the kids again and i know with this chief and the

and residential and generates energy, that is then turned into cng and fuels and the public fleet. food waste, definitely produces a lot more energy, by virtue of the process. and, so there is a lot more positive to it. and our challenge as we look forward is actually to handling of the food waste. you know, again today, the city has a contract with them to actually pick up the food waste, and recology has indicated that they do not have the capacity to segregate the food in the city and so they transport it by truck and they are planning to build a digester in vacaville and to feed the fuel of the truck that are being used to transport. and so we have the capacity, for high strength waste, and if we were to get a full high strength waste, we can certainly process it, but challenges that we see, and that we have seen everywhere including in oslow is for the high strength waste to be effective it needs to be 100 percent organic and there needs to be a diligent process prelined to be sure that none of the organic processes have been taken out, the most common are forks and knives and

and so before you the contract, and it explains what it is and the term, and the commissary, a small 7-11 for people who are incarcerated. for us we are able to reconstitute a contract by letting go to the former corporation that we contracted with and that was aramark by initiating with a new company that this department has not been in business with before. if you turned to the inmate benefit page, next one, the graph on the right, the blue and the red graph, i think shows a pretty stark contrast of what it takes for somebody in the old contract verses the new contract of what they would be paying when money is put on the books. so, for example, if somebody is putting on the books to buy those commissary goods, they would have to spend essentially $5.70 more for every $20. and so that those commissions fees and charges that is the kind of revenue that the family and then, the inmates and themselves would have to be burdened with and shoulder. and by us revising the contracts we have been able to reduce the rates, by upwards to 40 percent, which we think benefits everybody. and the

and including credit and debit cards and the sfmta parking cards as well as pay by phone and coins, ander display screens which is a concern that we heard a lot from the older meters and importantly if you do pay by phone and it will show up on the meter display, which none of our existing meters did. and there is some technology cal flexibility that will allow us to have the meter service the mum pell purposes such as the part time and general meters pashing at other times and in the course of upgrading we are not making other changes to rates or time limits or anything else that would always be done separately through the action of the board or otherwise. but we are replacing all of the meters in the city, we should be done with that by february of 2015, and the folks that have been out in the neighborhood have seen them already and so we are glad to be able to report on that. and we have got good feedback so far, and but, by february 2015, all new meters in san francisco which is good news. and then, final item of my report. is disclosure of labor agreements. and just to catch everyb

and some years it is early, and some years it is late and some years it does not materialize and some years it is overwhelming. when you look at the collective record, it is a broad swath around that median. and this is the kind of data that we frankly need to keep on collecting on a routine basis so that we can start to look and see if there are longer term trends and in this case, 2014, we just caught up with 2007. those were both within the last few years, you know, not too bad and they were in there and 2010, which it does not show here which was a big year, we had a very big year in there. and it was constant throughout the year and there was no, and there were no particular ups and downs, it was just a steady flow and so early to draw conclusions on this but this is something that we will continue to look at and one of the things of a task that we have under way is working with a number of climate specialists to try to take the global change models and bring them down to the regional level, and directly to the local level for operations and that is work that should begin late th

no exchange between journalist and scholars and academics and iranians and americans. that is why i felt in a unique position knowing i spent nine years in the united states over thee decades in the iranian policy making system to write a book about the relationship between iran and united states. tehran and washington have experienced one of the most dysfunctional relations, if not the most. one of the most hostile relations if not the most. and during mordern history, i can rarely find -- modern -- such a style between the united states and any other country. even with the soviet union there was relations and ambassadors. even with vietnam with the wars and everything the united states and ambassadors have official relations. but iranians and americans have failed to establish a had been and experienced all means of hostility. economic, covert, cyber, political war. the united states definitely tried over three decades to bring regime change in iran and failed. i try to explain the roots of hostili hostility. rarely you would find this in the west living in iran and
