let's go to anderson cooper live in jerusalem this morning. tell us more, anderson. >> yeah, this incident occurred three miles from where we are right here in central jerusalem in and area near the international hotel. police say they arrived very quickly on the scene and found what essentially was a backhoe tractor being used to try to topple over an israeli passenger bus. the bus itself was said to be largely empty though the driver of the bus was said to be injured in what police are labeling a terror attack. they said they shot dead the driver of the backhoe for about an hour or so. the body of the driver was lying by the side of the backhoe as police were investigating the scene and cordened off the entire area. they have identified the driver as an israeli arab of palestinian descent who lives in east jerusalem. this is not the first time there was an incident like this as this happened in 2008 and 2009. and as recently as 2013 when the earth moving equipment was used in this manner, which is why police so quickly labelled this a terror

let's take you out to ferguson, to anderson cooper. and so anderson, we know eric holder landed right around noon. tell me what we know. what has he been up to thus far today? >> well, we know he met ith some young people, some college students from this community. also has met with community leaders. but as you said, he is going to be -- supposed to be meeting with the family of michael brown. obviously, he wants to try to get the message across that the federal government here is on the ground, fbi agents are on the ground conducting their own investigation. and no doubt he will also try t investigation. we know there has been a federal autopsy already. the results have not been released to the family at this point. and likely will not be released publicly until the federal investigation is complete. but again, you know, all of this is going to take time, not just the federal investigation, but even the grand jury, which we understand began today. but that will go on for many, many weeks as prosecutors are presenting all of the evide

anderson cooper is joining us from jerusalem on the ground there this morning with the latest. what is it looking like just a few short hours into this cease-fire, anderson? >> about three hours into this cease-fire israel has said there's been at least 23 rockets fired into israel from gaza since midnight east coast time. but i want to get you the latest details on the cease-fire. despite the early trouble we told you about, we're about three hours in with four hours to go. israel agreed to hold its fire despite refusals by hamas. israel say it is truce does not apply to soldiers working to destroy terror tunnels including tunnels into israel. the israel defense forces say it will respond if fired upon. a senior palestinian jihad operative was killed. we believe donian monsieur was targeted before the cease-fire began. the pause in hostilities comes in the wake of another air strike near a u.n. shelter. the united states went to call it disgraceful despite them claiming that they were targeting -- for more response, let's go to john vause. john? >> reporter: anderson, as you sa

anderson cooper is along the israel-gaza border this morning with the very latest. anderson, what are you seeing? what are you hearing? >> well, good morning, kate. not hearing much, and that's certainly good news for people here in ashkalan. we've not heard rockets five hours into the cease-fire, and it does appear to be holding. it's been a quiet day here thus far. what makes this cease-fire different than others, most of which were broken very quickly is israel is not having any operations that are continuing. in past cease-fire, last unilateral cease-fire that israel held, they say they would continue ongoing military operations. right now they say they have pulled back all forces from gaza. all are on the israeli soil. they are in what they call defensive positions. we'll talk to lieutenant colonel lerner in a most but first let's go live to john voss standing by live in gaza city. john, what are you seeing and hearing there? >> reporter: well, anderson, it seems that there's just an incredible sense of relief here in gaza. once again the streets had here. peopl

here's what brady told anderson cooper about what he saw when mike brown was shot. >> reporter: when did you first realize something was happening? >> well, this was a little bit after 11:30ish. a friend of mine actually woke me up out of a nap. he comes over. i stepped outside with him for three to five minutes. after that, i come in, say something to my fiancee in the kitchen. then i goes into the bedroom. but then after two minutes in the bedroom, i heard an altercation outside. >> reporter: so what did you do then? >> when i heard the altercation, i looks out the window, and i see somebody at the ferguson police window, some kind of tussle going on here. >> reporter: so you saw somebody at the window of the police car? >> yes. >> reporter: the police officer was still in the vehicle? >> yeah, inside the vehicle. so like i say, there was some kind of tussle going on. he also had a friend also. he runs on the side of the car because all of a sudden it just takes off running. >> reporter: did you see what the tussle was around? did you see, was one person being pulled in or pulled o

let's bring in anderson cooper. he is also in ferguson, tonight. ron johnson about those agitators, they are called, on the ground. what did he have to say? >> i did. as more as 70 people were arrested last night, several journalist, more than 70 people in total, and the police are blaming what they say outside agitators. i talked to captain ron johnson a short time ago, here is what he said. how much, in your opinion, is this from outside the community and coming in, as you said, agitated. >> i think a lot of it is. i'm not just talking about people outside this state. there are people from other communities within this area that are coming in and providing a lot of this damage and behavior. >> now only a small number of people arrested last night were from outside this state. as you heard captain johnson saying, they are defining agitators as people who are not from ferguson who don't live in this community. >> i think 1 in 4 people arrested are not. at least as of last night. what are they telling you and what are they expecting to see tonight?
