for years public nudity has been part of san francisco and beaches and parades and some of our bars and the occasional sporadic naked person wondering the streets. it wasn't a big deal and few people caressed. in the last few years it's changed. public nudity is no longer random and sporadic, or occasional part of san francisco and in the castro it's seven days a week. everyday where people live, play and conduct their lives. to be very clear despite some of the press coverage this is not about cock rings but that maybe the extreme example but it's not the heart of the issue and seven days a week and almost always men stand at out displaying their gentles of anyone walking or driving by. the situation in the castro which has been extreme developed around the time i took office. there were immediate calls on me to ban it. i resisted those calls for almost two years and took significant heat from some quarters for that delay because it's not what i wanted to do. i didn't want to do legislation restricting public nudity, because although i have disagreements with the proponents of legislat

"you should be careful and don't approach that car" and "need help and he's making a left" and by the time we got to geary black and whites were all over the place and apprehended the person and i got a call from alex faigen who was the later the police chief. he was a friend of mine. he said "well, admiral do we have to give you credit for an assisted arrest" and i said "you bet your life too and i also want a sf tv star" and anyway those small things happen. i paid the police department and the city back. we put this together with a group of volunteerses, the original command center. the wonderful volunteers that exist in san francisco. not people advising you but people coming here doing stuff and they represented the great cross section of san francisco. had two retired school teachers who came to this temporary building everyday for five years, and provided administrative assistance. they were wonderful. one of them was mary louise green. dave ebberly -- you haven't heard that name. he was the guy bouncing around and i found out he was the volunteer driver of the emergency vehicl

and it includes local students and tourist and business, and corporations, and service industry. and again, the foods that we serve, it does appeal to the kosher people that like eating the food. they don't have a lot of options out there. we serve to the indian community, which is a huge, huge population now in san francisco. and we serve them vegetarian and vegan which is a stricter diet, i guess. and we actually prepare the food fresh. so nothing is deep fried or made that was frozen and reserved. so it will take a little more effort on our part to actually produce this food and it will take a while to deliver and take a while to sit and seat the meal as well. so it is a little bit different than the restaurants around the corner from us. so it happens and that we are in a strange situation where we actually have four 24/7 restaurants half a block away from us. i actually drew a map in the back and so you could go to slide six or seven and a map that shows that we are next to the cafe, and jack in the box at 24/7 and cafination and a diner. by, or most of the time, this restau
