andre senior. good morning. i'm gasia mikaelian it's thursday, june 9th and the weather is about to heat up. steve paulson , andre and i were just talking about cracking that bedroom window. just a bit to sleep tonight. if you don't have a c boy, you know, it might be a little tough, but yeah, i understand that, yes. yeah if you open it up sunday morning, the wind cold wind will knock you over. but the next couple of days, it's going to be on the warmer side and not much of a breeze so and he breeds you can get is a bonus here already in the fifties sixties, although, you know, i mean, it's not. we're you know, we're not seeing you know, upper sixties or seventies. yet there's a nice little bed of high clouds over us. they'll clear a little bit of fog down towards monterey. so thursday thoughts some morning high clouds. they'll clear out then it will be sunny, mostly sunny and getting warmer inland. we'll start to see some eighties nineties, their seventies and eighties around the back, all right over the salads eight o'clock in the morning and got crazy. i think it's a little busier than usual places where bart is affected, ittle bit busier. i think earlier this morning as you're going to hear that bart was not running between five and six, and that did affect the commute. more people had to make that decision. to take the car. and now if you look at the toll plaza here, it's a little rough . i have to say it's a little rougher thursday, and just because a lot of people were on it kind of caused a chain reaction as these things go and also reminding you that today there is a baseball game at a always want to say. 18 t park oracle park. and that lets out at about four in the afternoon. it's going to affect the traffic out of the city. so just keep that in mind as you look at some of your options. the san mateo bridge is actually a good option to get across the bay instead of using that bay bridge. 801 let's go back to the headlines this morning. full service has been restored on board after an issue affected the whole system writers. trains were just supposed to start. running writers may still experience some residual delays that ktvu mendicant town has been live with the walnut creek bart station all morning and you're now updating us on the situation there, amanda yes. so trains are running here. that is the good news. but as you heard, sal mentioned they were not running for an hour this morning from 5 to 6 this morning trains board trains all over the bay area. we're not running, but those started. if you are planning to use bart today now, bart originally put out that alert just before five this morning, saying that there was a system wide delay due to a computer failure in its operations controlter, and bart was telling passengers to find another way to get where they needed to go this morning. they initially didn't know how long the system would be down. now here we've been speaking with people getting off bart, who had some delays. some are not affected at all. but a few people told us they're going to be about 45 minutes to an hour late to work and one woman. avoided that by jumping on a scooter. luckily there's like all these sick new scooters around berkeley now so we can, like, take those to get places which is really nice. um but i got to my station. i looked at my bar tap, and it said that the train was on time. so i was like, cool, so i sat down. then i looked at the sign. and it was like 35 minutes and i was like, oh, heck, no. so i had to grab another scooter and i took from ashby bar to macarthur took a scooter and i made it there. luckily the but the bart train was literally like waiting. and i like jumped on and some guy was like you made it and i was like, yes, sick. i did. so it was a bit of an escapade just to get here this morning. all this morning. we've been watching the tracks at local bart stations at lafayette, bart and at pittsburgh, bart on highways 246 this morning, but here in walnut creek, when we got here around six this morning, we could hear the strains. trains start to move. and then we heard the announcement saying, you know if you're standing outside if you've been waiting, trying to figure out another way to get where you're going to come back in. the trains are moving again. but still those announcements are being heard here this morning, saying, we are back to service back to normal service. but you should still expect those major delays. so all trains in all directions. you should still expect some delays . some people we spoke to about 15 minutes. some people. it's closer to an hour, so it really just kind of depends where you're going this morning. but if you're coming to bart still just expect those delays live in walnut creek. amanda quintana ktvu fox tunis. thank you new this morning, a four alarm fire in an apartment building is displaced dozens of tenants into soon city. authorities first received calls about the fire at well i'll warriors fans have their fingers crossed this morning. we expect to get an update on the health of steph curry, who hobbled at the end of last night's game after colliding with a £240 power forward with the boston celtics. to be his joe fonzi takes us inside boston's td garden for game three of the nba finals. the celtics knew they needed to come out and play with a sense of desperation, and they expected to get a lift from their home crowd as the series switch to boston for the first time last night. that's exactly how things turned out. our soft. that's what was most disappointing to me for us, just trusting each other and hitting the open man and you know, we know that how good they are protecting the room. so it's important this series just to make the simple pass and trust each other because we got great scoring all around. the celtics jumped out to a big lead, leading by as many as 18 points in the first half. they did it with the three ball. former cal star jalen brown was for eight from three point range and led the celtics with 27 points. the warriors trailed by 12 at the half. but then steph curry gave them their only lead of the second half when he had his three it was 83 82 warriors in the third quarter on the road must win game game four. we had the most win game after you know, tough telephone in game one, and we got game too. so the flow. we still feel like we obviously can win the series. come out with the right intention, intensity and focus game four, but the celtics then built on their lead and put it away in the fourth. jason tatum with two of his 26 down the stretch as the celtics to take a 2 to 1 lead in the series teams have learned long ago that the way you defend the warriors is to be physical with steph curry. he took a beating last night but talked after the game about his status approaching game four tomorrow night. so for sprain essentially. that's what it felt like and then i'll see i response so not much other than saying. i don't feel like i'm missing game, though. but now it's the warriors turn to play with the sense of desperation to avoid going down three games to one. in other words, playoff basketball in boston, joe fonzi ktvu fox two. game four, of course, is in boston, but expect chase center to be packed both inside and out. let us hope the mood is different than what it was last night. this is a big inside chase center last night, a lot of disappointed dubs fans, but they say they are still hopeful. instead of warriors and five fans are now predicting the series of maybe run a bit longer. at first i said five, gentlemen, sweet because we're gentlemen out here, but we're gonna do dubs at six. now i'm disappointed. we lost. they played hard, but boston played hard paid $25 each to watch this indoor watch p inside, but no more reservations for the free outdoor party at thrive city not counting the dubs out just yet. definitely not the game. they're going to be on, set back. step back. no problem. this team is a really good team, so we'll see what happens next for checking the roads with sal castaneda or sportsman himself. tell us about what's happening. we know we had a lot of backups from the bark shutdown earlier. yeah, you know, all three of us have been aware of this. so we've put amanda on it as a reporter. we all know that bart did not run this morning between five and six. and at the time what bart was saying to viewers our viewers to writers was that we don't know where we're going to be back. well, they ended up being back at six. let's go to the bay bridge now and a lot of people i think at that crucial hour decided to take the car and it had a chain reaction. now, these people who are here now i don't think that they left the house at five. but you never know. but i just think that the reaction of the early start to the commute has kind of led on to the entire morning of slow traffic. and remember today there is a daytime baseball game at oracle park. the giants are going to be playing that game is out and about four. it's going to put extra traffic on the roads for the afternoon commute. this is a look at 8 80 heading down to union city is going to be a little tough because of a crash at alvarado. it's backed up out of san leandro. if you're getting on the freeway in fremont that's acted sort of a block to the traffic. and the subject commute hasn't been that severe. i want to do mention exit. there was a crash there and traffic on the bayshore freeway. is really slow the easy way to get around that is to use to 80 down the peninsula in step 8 11, let's go back to the desk downwind going to you're going to be gagging. richmond residents have been dealing with a dead whale on the bay. the odor is spreading the plans to when that situation was going to be cleared up. as it turns out, they ended up clearing it up at six and trains started running. there were delays, but a lot of people made a decision to bring the car
