andrea fujihi has the story. >> reporter: food has changed monique young's life. >> i didn't graduate from high school. i like food so this is the perfect opportunity to do this. >> reporter: it's a 12 week program that provides hands on culinary training preparing students for jobs in the food service. >> leaving here, they feel very comfortable walking into any kitchen setting and pretty much execute which is what we need. >> reporter: and experience that's allowed all 10 students to graduate in food related jobs. including troy stephanie who says his new career path will provide a stable income for his daughter. >> that's the best part about this program. you don't have to look for jobs, jobs are coming here looking for you. >> reporter: the program is a free service. already putting dozens of people to work and providing hope. >> it makes me feel really good. i am very proud of myself. >> reporter: the food works program is less than a year old and three classes including this one have already graduated. the next one starts in july. i'm andrea fujihi, eyewitness news. >>> to get m
