we are following a lot of breaking news including this fire in brooklyn. >>> andrea grymes is live on the scene with more for us. she just got to the location moments ago. >> andrea? >> reporter: chris and diane, it's a massive scene here in brooklyn. you can see the firefighters here. the fire has spread to neighboring homes. five people are injured, but it's unclear what their conditions are at this moment. a call came in at 4:45 for the fire here, and it spread to neighboring buildings. there's 135 firefighters and ems crews on the scene, and if you usually travel through here for the morning commute, there's a lot of emergency vehicles, fire trucks on the surrounding blocks, and it's a few street over from coney island avenue and a section of flatbush. there are lovely victorian homes in this section. andrea grymes, cbs 2 news. >>> an officer killed in illinois in the line of duty is remembered. reporting live this morning in queens, andrea grymes, cbs 2 news. >> all right. thank you. >>> police are looking for the man who threw a metal garbage can into the windshield of a mta bus last month. they leased this image of the suspect. it happened around 9:30 at night at the corner of west 14th street and 7th avenue. police say they got into a dispute with the driver before threwing the can. the bus was damaged but the driver was not hurt. >>> the rutgers scarlet knights tomorrow. they are accused in a series of crimes. four have been arrested and one remains at-large. they are charged with three home invasions and one assault. >> he did have to go to the had. he was there for maybe about a day or two. like we were all sad because he is such a great person and he wasn't doing anything wrong. >> rutgers released a statement saying, quote, the students involved are currently suspended. we continue to monitor the situation. >>> new york's governor has ordered a review of the state's common core curriculum. the panel reviewing the curriculum includes education ex

cbs2's andrea grymes reports. >> reporter: it was late in the game between san antonio's jon jay high school and the marvel falls mustangs when two players purposely crashed into this referee on the healed. the first hit knocks the official to the ground while a second player dives head first onto his back. after the game jon jay's coach reportly apologized. the north side independent school district tells cbs2 news the players have been suspended from the team and is promising a full investigation saying, quote, north side will not tolerate this type of behavior. it does appear the athletes intentionally tackled the referee, but we have not confirmed it. jon jay was riding high after winning the first game of the season the previous week. it's still unclear what provoked the players' actions on friday, although the athletic director point out that two other jon jay players were ejected earlier in the game for an altercation with players on the opposing team. the district says tuesday morning it will start interviewing coaches, players, and others who were at the game to learn more ab
