kpix 5's andrea nakano in knob hill with how the crime has shaken a small family business. >> reporter: the robbery happened right here at this restaurant called the knob hill pizza and schwarma. the owner said he couldn't believe how calm and calculated the robber was entering the store. >> he took the money and ran away, this is crazy. >> reporter: this is surveillance video that caught the suspect red handed. it happened just after 4:00 this afternoon. he walked in, saw the employees busy in the back of the restaurant and casually walked up to the restaurant. >> i don't know if he was a customer or came before, but he knew how to open the register. >> reporter: he says his wife was the closest employee to the register. they're grateful nobody was hurt as the robber quickly bolted out of the store. >> who cares about the money? i mean, we're okay and 300, 400, $500 i can get back. i can't get my wife back, so we let him go. >> reporter: he says he'll change the way he does business from now on. he started his restaurant nearly 20 years ago and is known to feed the homeless community

kpix5's andrea nakano says the commission got an earful from both sides. >> reporter: the firing of anne kirkpatrick wasn't an item on the agenda, but it was the topic the community wanted to address. even the commission chair strongly criticized the former chief for the way she left the city of oakland. >> the police chief had to go. >> reporter: a lot of support for the police commission after it voted unanimously to fire chief anne kirkpatrick last week. >> i would like to see a department that starts following the rules, that stops lying to the public, that actually protects the interest and the well-being of the community. >> reporter: those who backed the commission's decision say their biggest gripe was the lack of fair policing. >> my mom lives in east oakland and i've been a resident of the city for over 57 years. the policing that is going on in her neighborhood is different than the policing that goes on in montclair. >> reporter: after her firing kirkpatrick criticized the power the police commission holds and the way she was fired without cause. tonight the commission fired

andrea nakano is in sausalito where she got the owner's side of the story. >> reporter: the incidents in question happened here on curry lane in sausalito. within a few hours span, 2 dogs reportedly attacked 3 contractors. a warning, some of the images you'll see in the story are graphic. >> sausalito is on lockdown right now, especially curry lane. >> reporter: dennis webb is a contractor working at a home on curry lane. he said 3 of his workers were attacked by these dogs on january 21st. >> sean said he put his hand out the led the dog come up and smell him, then the white dog jumped on his face, ripped him on the right side and left side of his face while the other dog went for his legs. >> reporter: then less than 4 hours later, another worker says the same thing happened to him. >> the white dog got my arm, and the black one went for my legs. >> reporter: another worker with them managed to jump into the bed of the truck and avoid injuries, but for the 2 mauled, here are the images of the bite marks left behind. >> we're all petrified, especially the older folks are petrified. o
