our andrea nakano is live in that very neighborhood right now. she's been talking to neighbors and people there, and what are you seeing right now, andrea? >> reporter: well, we started noticing some slight changes to the traffic patterns in the sherman acres neighborhood around 5:30 tonight. cars stopped coming in all together as the monument boulevard intersection over there is now closed. the shelter in place order has been issued, and it's been very quiet in this neighborhood for several hours here in front of the suspect's home. now, across monument boulevard at a nearby shopping center, officers and swat teams from several agencies were setting up their operations there. the gunman is allegedly a retired detective from the pittsburgh police department. authorities have been monitoring his social media account and responding to posts saying they want to help him. now, he has been frequently posting on social media during the last 24 hours. some posts led officers to believe he might be suicidal. now, this is the scene in front of his house. i

. >>> thank you for joining us at 11:00, i'm andrea nakano. we start tonight in oakland where three cafe workers no longer are on the job after a confrontation with a customer over the violence in gaza. this was the message posted outside farley's east in oakland. the owners calling the confrontation shocking and unacceptable. the owners say it start when had a jewish customer noticed graffiti in the bathroom and tried to take a picture. here's what happened next. >> currently this is a private property. >> i know israel loves taking private property and saying it's their own. >> eventually the woman is let in and records images, including the message zionism is fascism written below a bathroom mirror. the staffers appear to dismiss the woman's concerns and say free palestine as she leaves. earlier this week the cafe posted they'd be closed this weekend. that message has been taken down. they released a statement saying nothing we say can adequately capture the horrific suffering and loss of innocent lives in gaza and the suffering in israel.

. >>> good evening, i'm andrea nakano. brian is off tonight. we begin in san francisco. emergency officials were asking the public to stay away from union inquiry tonight after a ceasefire protest took over the plaza. hundreds of demonstrators marched right into the middle of the holiday shopping rush. a witness told us everything was pretty calm until some of them went into the ice rink. san francisco police officers then started trying to make arrests, and that's when it got out of hand. some people were pushing back against the officers. we saw a lot of graffiti and other signs of vandalism. this video shows the moment a person with a sign was climbing the christmas tree. you can see there was a palestinian flag also hanging there. and hours before that, the rally started on market street. the protesters said they wanted the federal government to stop providing funding to israel. one told us disrupting holiday shopping was the point. >> we have the privilege and luxury here in the united states to sit beside our families during the holidays and celebrate and be amongs

. >> and i'm andrea nakano. we begin in san francisco. >> that dog trainer gained a huge following on social media. he's being accused of dog abuse and cruelty by fellow dog trainers. he held a training event this afternoon and was met by protesters and our da lin. >> reporter: there are no regulations when it comes to dog training. no license, no oversight. some dog trainers claim one man is abusing the system and dogs. 6-year-old mikey is a german shepherd husky mix. his dog mom is worried about his behavior. >> i have a vicious dog here. so, well, that's why we want to just try it, if it would help. >> reporter: she tried different trainers and even a boarding school. she hopes a four-hour session with this trainer will provide some positive changes in his behavior. she's met with peaceful protesters in front of the san francisco building on saturday afternoon. >> each one of us has own opinion, but for me, if it would help my dog, why not. >> reporter: many of the protesters are professional dog trainers. th

. >>> i'm andrea nakano, brian hackney is off tonight. our top story tonight is the weather. we could be in line for a very wet week. let's get right to first alert meteorologist darren peck with the timing of all these storms and what we can expect this week. >> the timing is the challenge. so what i want to do, andrea, is start out with the big picture and show you where we have more confidence -- where we have a high degree of confidence. the amount of rain coming our way between monday and thursday. and that's really the timeframe on this. most of it on monday morning, and then another system through wednesday. when you look at the whole period, monday through wednesday, we could pick up about maybe 2 inches of rain, 2 to 2.5. some models say closer to 3. if we get that, that would be more rain in four days than we've had for the whole year so far. shouldn't be a flooding scenario, but the most impressive rain yet. it's two systems. we've got the first one out here. we're going look at the specifics in one second. but once that one passes on tuesday, watch another one dev

our andrea nakano shows us one petaluma family wants everyone to know they are riding hard for the niners reporter: you can find many of the 49er legends on the lawn of this northeast petaluma home. it all started with the recreation of the catch. >> dwight is definitely one of my favorite ones. i freehanded it, and it turned out great. and i love it. i love it. >> reporter: matt camano is the artist behind the 49er theme "winter wonderland." he creates each board by hand, an idea that came to him from a lesson he was teaching his sixth grade class. while he does a lot of the work, this has become a family tradition, and his daughter is one of his best little helpers. >> last winter, it really wrecked the boards, like, there was boards, there was paint that was, like, just faded. and so my driveway just had all of the boards lined up, and she was out there with a paint brush with me for a couple hours or so just painting away. and it's really special. it was really nice. and i really enjoyed that moment with her. >> reporter: camano has the full support from his family, including his wife
