i'm andrea nakano. an arsonist is on the loose tonight in san francisco, the person caught on camera setting a tesla on fire this weekend. police say this was the second tesla torched that night. this happened pretty much in the same neighborhood. this was destroyed while parked in soma, the second car destroyed just a block away. da lin spoke to the owner of one of the cars tonight who shared video you'll only see here on cbs news bay area. >> reporter: this is one of the arson locations. the arsonist is linked to at least two tesla fires. investigators want to know who and why. an arsonist caught in the act, the person sets papers on top of the front passenger tire of a 2020 white tesla model y. he uses a lighter to burn the papers and walks away. we're speeding up the surveillance footage to show you within minutes the front portion of the model y is engulfed in flames. a neighbor shares this cell phone video. the flames shooting about ten feet into the air. this happened on saturday morning around 1

good evening, i'm andrea nakano. tonight is the culmination of lunar new year celebrations, that began two weeks ago when asian culture marked the year of the dragon. da lin joins us from the chinese new year parade, how is it going out there? >> reporter: it is popping, very loud and hopefully you can hear me with all the noise and folks behind me, the year of the dragon, the largest chinese new year's parade outside asia. it started about one hour ago, we are a block away from the starting point at third and market. organizers tell us there are 19 floats and 122 groups marching down, it is about 1.3 miles. there is a lot of color in this parade, because this is a colorful pageantry of the chinese culture and tradition. organizers also said that this is a way to recognize the impact that the chinese american community has had on this city. of course, as mentioned earlier, this is the year of the dragon so a lot of dragons on this parade route, i'm told the highlight is a very long dragon about 288 feet, that is how
