good morning. >> reporter: good morning mike, andrea roane. there's no nationwide shortage of the flu vaccine. very important to let folks know because there have been some contradictory reports that there were some shortages. however, there are plenty of vaccines to go around nationwide. simply there were a couple of shipment delays because so many folks are rushing to pharmacies to get their flu shots. so basically, these stores were blowing through their inventory before you could get there. so word of advice? call ahead before you head to the pharmacy. med immune a manufacturer of flu mist produced 12 million doses. there were temporary delays in new shipments of tamiflu but stores we're told are now restilling the stock of the oral -- refilling their stock of the oral vaccine. doctors say this strain of h 3 n 2 is the most severe but it's still covered by this inoculation. however, remember the flu shot is only 90% effective. >> so you might get vaccinated and still get the flu. and you hear many people that say that. well, i got vaccinat

i'm andrea roane. >>> i'm mike hydeck. here is howard bernstein live on the weather terrace. we have a long list of delays and closings. we'll be reading those coming up. great hat, howard. >> i got this years ago. you have to have a dark hat with the brim. the snow is very light now. it's just coming down. really not going to accumulate a whole lot much more here in the metro where we've had a half-inch to inch. south of town, three, four, locally five inches. we'll get rid of the snow in the next hour, hour and a half. we'll turn partly sunny and breezy. a high 31 degrees. we've had some decent snow totals out here. the weather computer doesn't want to be moving. temperatures right now are in the mid- to upper teens to around 20 degrees of the the snow is a little bit of light snow still in the metro and also down in southern maryland. but the bulk of the accumulating snow is now pulling away. so areas south again like st. mary's county, 3, 4, locally 5 inches of snow. a lot more problems in the south than the metro. take it easy this morning. let's go to monika with timesa
