a live look here at andrew's air force base outside of washington, d.c. as the remains of president carter arrived from georgia moments ago and will soon be en route to the u.s. navy memorial in the nation's capital. we expect a small ceremony there in recognition of the naval academy as graduate's service as a submarine officer. after that, his coffin will be loaded into a horse drawn carriage for the journey down pennsylvania avenue to the u.s. capitol. the procession designed to mirror carter's inaugural parade when the president and his family walked on foot from the capitol to the white house in 19771977. at the top, the former president who died late last night at age 100 will lie in state throughout tonight and tomorrow into thursday morning. here is how the day's events will unfold. as we said, at joint andrews air force base is where the remains of the late president have arrived. 2:45 p.m. eastern time we expect that motorcade into washington, d.c. around 3:30 will be the arrival at the u.s. navy memorial. and then the procession begins around 3
