question a bit is the author of "america's war for the greater middle east: a military history," andrew bacevichth us. andrew, thank you for being here. >> glad to be here. we talk about the article you wrote in politico, and it was basically headlined, what would happen if. if donald trump were faced with a 9/11-style terrorist attack, and you went and talked to foreign policy experts, right, to historians, to academics, and asked, really, in all seriousness, asked people the question, what would he do? and what responses shocked you the most? >> i think the bottom line, i have a 5-year-old grandson who is a total sweet kid. and he says the first thing that comes to his mind. he's a blurter. donald trump is a blurter. and that's okay to do when you're 5 years old, but it would not be okay to do when you're the president of the united states. so trump clearly has this inclination to speak first, think later, and to not consider at all second-order consequences, larger ramifications. i personally would view that as a major disability in somebody who purports to aspire to be the commander in chief
