let's dig in deeper with john miller and andrew mccabe. andrew, how do you assess trump's argument that he has absolute presidential immunity in this case and how do you expect this case to play out from here? >> as for his argument, i think most legal cscholars of are in the camp of, it's a real long shot. i think the basic premise of holding the president essentially above the criminal laws of this country, it contradicts everything we know about what the framers intended and captured in the constitution itself. i think they're going to have a really hard time persuading the appeals court and the supreme court if it gets in front of that court eventually. however, what's going to happen as we go forward, who knows. this ball is still in the air. it will obviously go through the schedule that jessica laid out, it will be heard by the d.c. circuit. if trump loses at that level, he has two options. he can ask the d.c. circuit for a rehearing in front of the entire court. he's not entitled to that, so they might turn him down. or he could go

i want to bring in cnn senior law enforcement analyst and former fbi deputy director, andrew mccabe, also here is julia kyan, former department of homeland security official and an international security analyst. amid a start with you here. juliet, this was the 16-year-old. alleged to be affiliated with i.s.i.s., of all things, talking about lone wolf scenarios. are these sort of scenarios the biggest threat right now when it comes to domestic terrorism? >> he is younger than the normal threat, we generally look at 20 to 25-year-olds, white males. we don't know his ethnicity, he is only described by our reporting as a recent convert to islam. so we don't know his background. this is young, but it's not young in terms of access and identification and growing a sense of community throw social media. we certainly see that in teenagers. so that is not surprising, i actually think that is youth is a sign of two things. one, he is affiliating with the last war. focusing on isakson's, honestly, a little dated now. so used to start to wonder if it's accessed information, is he just getting s

joining me now is andrew mccabe, former fbi deputy director. andy, thanks for joining us tonight.both of these incidents, luckily, no one was harmed. but it seems the intention is for there to be something unexpected to happen. these incidents have really become much more commonplace in recent years. or is there anything that can be done to stop it? >> it's very tough, abby. because in very, very few of these incidents do we ever actually identify and upper hand the person behind it. so we don't have a great visibility into what a free offenders motives are when they engage in this sort of. tim it's pretty clear that it's basically harassment. they are trying to provoke law enforcement response to your home in an effort to terrorize your family, to potentially provoke a lethal incident. or to even just communicate they know where you live and they can, kind of, reach out and exercised some sort of power over you. i can tell you from personal experience, recently, it's terrifying. it's incredibly disturbing and particular to your family members who have to go through with it. but l

andrew mccabe joining us. we appreciate your time. to start with, what are law enforcement officials looking at right now given some of the increased concerns? >> phil, i its a really broad threat. i think nothing sums that up better than the joint intelligence bulletin, jib as they are referred to in the business, released by fbi, nctc and dhs. and that bulletin, if you read, it's very broad. the language is open ended. that reflects the fact that our counterterrorism experts believe that the threat could come from any number of directions. it could be racially motivated, lone offenders, it could be folks motivated by the israel/hamas conflict. could be folks who are just opportunistic actors and looking to take advantage of large events in which -- that will grab a lot of media attention and which we're always concerned about this time of year. as you know, there is one factor that's really the wild card in the deck this -- at the end of this year and the threat picture, and that is, of course, people motivated by the israel/hamas c
