andrew mccarthy, great to have you in studio. >> thanks, gretchen. >>> time for my take now.t yesterday on this show we talked about current presidents reaching out to former presidents for advice. clinton to nixon. george w. bush to clinton. and probably more. why? they say it was helpful to speak to someone who understood exactly what it was like to actually hold the most powerful job in the world. it is a pretty small club. president clinton said he didn't agree with a lot of the issues he discussed with president bush or nixon for that matter, but he appreciated the discussions that he had as a way of being open-minded and making sure he was crossing every t and dotting every i. so we debated yesterday whether it would be smart for president obama to reach out to george w. bush. especially now with both presidents sharing the common experience of fighting terrorism in iraq as much as president obama had hoped he never would. maybe president obama has reached out to george w. and we just don't know about it, but after hearing what george w. just said about the consequences
