i'm becky quick along with andrew ross sorkin, yo is out today. joining us is the business editor of axiot, dan primack a lot of things to talk about a lot related to politics and washington let's look at u.s. equity futures. yesterday all three of the major averages were higher once again. it was a trifecta of record closes the dow, s&p and the nasdaq all ending the day in record territory. you can see this morning there are green arrows once again. it looks like the dow futures are indicated up by over 14 points s&p indicated up fractionally. the nasdaq up fractionally as well overnight in asia, the nikkei ended higher it was up by 11 points that's still a win hang seng was up by a quarter percent. so was the shanghai composite. this morning and in some of the early trading we've seen take place in europe, modest advances actually things are relatively flat the cac is up by 0.1%. the ftse is flat the dax is flat. we'll see how things react as we get deeper into the trading day. let's look at crude oil prices crude was down yesterday this morning

welcome to "squawk box" here on cnbc i'm becky quick along with joe kernen and andrew ross sorkin. we are live from the pierre hotel in new york city this is the sight of today's delivering alpha conference. it all kicks off with our special occasion with treasury secretary steven mnuchin make sure you set your watches and just in case you don't have a watch to set, don't worry, we'll count you down right here. we're tracking the destruction from hurricane irma. we have more on that story in a few minutes. but first, let's take a look at the markets this morning u.s. equity futures are extending the rally from yesterday. right now, dow futures indicated up by almost 50 points the s&p up by 3 and nasdaq up by 15 this comes after all the markets looks looked very strong yesterday. the dow was up by 260 points s&p was up by 26 it was a record close for the s&p 500 and that's its first since august 7th the dow closed at a one-month high take a look at what's been happening in europe this morning. the gains we saw yesterday as concerns about irma faded a bit and, again, some concerns ab
