andy mccarthy is contributing editor of the national review and a former federal prosecutor. thanks for joining us tonight. all right, if it does turn out that this is the taliban, we have a very complicated relationship with them in afghanistan. our state department has not designated them with the particular label that would mean we could really go after them and their assets. why haven't we? >> they won't designate the taliban as a terrorist organization because they're negotiating with the taliban. and i think personally i believe they're setting the groundwork for an ultimate taliban re-taking of afghanistan and make it look like a negotiated solution rather than a coup, which is what it would be like. i must say, i respectfully disagree with your first guest who has tremendous expertise there. but i think this is highly strategically significant in terms of the timing. the tal lan wantaliban wants to make it look like they're chasing us out of afghanistan. we've already said we're leaving. we won't designate them as terrorist organizations. even their allies who we do c

and now, according to andy mccarthy, former prosecutor, he says, look, they've got two other options.y can use their power of the purse to defund his efforts, or they can impeach him. and that is, you know, the i-word has been getting a lot of play lately and not favorable. >> look, the i-word has been used mostly by democrats who are trying to gin up the money machine by saying that's all republicans are talking about. that is the last thing republicans want to do. i believe that the president legalizes millions of americans here illegally in -- and of his own declarations, that is in principle an impeachable offense. but as a practical matter there is zero chance it would be -- that the president would be impeached and convicted by the senate. and there is 100% chance that it would be political suicide for republicans and could ensure that there's a democratic successor to barack obama. so if you're being hard headed politically, and you're worried about this constitutional violation, i would say you don't impeach. that would be a terrible mistake. what you try to do is to elect a r

allow to us sue the obama administration, other sue the executive branch, you heard people like andy mccarthy push for impeachment. sarai palin, only one problem, in the history of the united states, 19 total impeachments in the house, eight in the senate. so i don't think getting rid of one executive official will do it. it's going to come down to unfortunately, and fortunately, convincing people. it's going to come down making people understand these fundamental concepts, which is why what we're doing the center is important, which is why the information we propagate is so important because the media is the great why machine on behalf of secondtive temperature system they're more than happy to watch the president violate american freedoms so is so long as he is on their side. so we're going to have to step up. have to call things by their right name, go into communities we never thought we would have to go into. we saw the republican national committee decided it would be a great idea to hold the convention in cleveland. which is not good enough for lebron, not good enough for conservatives

that the department of justice sort of put their thumb on the scales to a certain extent which andy mccarthy his words from my interview with him last night -- suggested. what do you think, guy? >> that's what the holder justice department does time and again, that is their mo. but going back to really, i think, the important point of finding out the truth of why the trigger was pulled, reportedly repeatedly, on this unarmed person, what you just mentioned about mr. johnson and now his credibility problem, i think you have credibility problems galore, right? you have lots of reasons to perhaps be skeptical of anything the police are saying because they've hidden so much information, and they've behaved in such a questionable, to put it lightly, manner. now you have the key eyewitness who's been a darling of the media talking to anyone who will listen omitting the perhaps relevant fact that he could have been involved in the criminal act, that creates a problem for his credibility. there's no dashboard camera, apparently, in this police cruiser. how are we going to get to the truth here? this

when you listen to things like that, andy mccarthy who's been on this program a number of times, he's well, he likens the lawyerish white house language on isis to the same response it had to fort hood. >> they're ideologically entrenched in the idea of the threat not being that serious to the point where they're now also politically invested in that because that's the story that they've been trying to run for six years to the point where, you know, you have the jihadist atrocity at fort hood where twice as many people get killed as were killed in the 1993 world trade center bombing that you just mentioned in my background. and they won't even call it a jihadist attack. they won't call it islamic terrorism. i don't think they're taking this seriously enough. >> the president also, according to "the new york times" today has called jordan, not egypt, strangely, but called -- asked turkey to shut undo the border, has asked britain and australia to join us in air strikes. now they're up to 1,000 advisers. now air strikes in two separate countries. but we're not going to get too involved.
