angie goff has traffic. howard bernstein has today's forecast. however, we start with breaking news out of rockville, maryland, this morning. where firefighters are on the scene of a house explosion and a fire. the first call went out just before 3:00 a.m. for a home explosion at the 11212 ashley drive in the garrett park area. >> the cause of the explosion remains unknown. assistant chief scott graham from montgomery county rescue says firefighters arrived on the scene to find a single family home destroyed by an explosion. two people have been injured and have been taken to a local hospital. their conditions are unknown at this time. graham says crew have found fallen trees and downed wires in the area. >> no word if those played any role in the explosion. stay tuned to 9news now and wusa9.com for updates on this developing story. >>> we'll be in touch with angie goff with traffic news coming up. first, we start with howard with your weather. it is raining already. >> moderate rain in spots. little lightning and thunder can't be ruled out south

angie goff, you got trouble already? >> we do. we have been tracking trouble spots on the bw parkway. that's why we keep the yellow light on. i want to begin by letting you know what we're dealing with on the bw parkway is this accident at riverdale road that is taking away all lanes that are going northbound. as a result of this, you will want to use route 50 or 201 as an alternate. still not getting any type of timetable as far as when they plan to have this wrapped up. so as a result, i'm edging you to use 201 or 50 this morning if the bw is what you usually travel in this area. a wide view of the other areas, everyone else checking out okay. north of the district the outer loop is moving from 95 to 270 at speed. the live condition at 29 colesville road. back to the maps we take another view of the area, moving this time up to 270. drivers appear to be moving well. right now it doesn't look like any major slow goes out of urbana to 109, 121 a good example, we are very much looking at a light drive. still ahead we are going to l

angie goff, how is the bw parkway? >> it remains our top traffic story of the morning howard. that's because the roadways remain blocked, we're talking about northbound on that trip. that's why we keep the yellow light on. a live look from sky 9 the view from above maps it out. notice this is the intersection of bw parkway at riverdale road. the police are obviously still there. a heavy police presence on the scene blocking all northbound lanes of the parkway. as a result of this, throughout the morning rush we are hoping this will open up afterwards, throughout the morning rush use route 50 or 201 as your alternate. of course, expect more volume on both of those roads. >>> let's move it over to our maps and show you how drivers out on 270 are doing as we take a look at that southbound trip. it looks like we're definitely slow from 80 to 121 and definitely using brakes again as drivers make their way approaching i370. moving back over to the real time graphics, we're going to move to travel times, 66 in virginia, moving okay from the fairfax county parkway to the beltway. ther
