let's turn to angie lassman who's tracking the flood threat. >> good morning to you. we've got flood threats for parts of california after multiple days of heavy rain. 13 million people under flood alerts. another repeat round, specifically focussed toward central california. that's where we'll watch for the flood threat. a bit of a break tomorrow. but look what happens as we fast forward to thursday. we'll see another system working in on that atmospheric river and delivering more rain and of course a rewed flood threat for that same region. some of this will impact folks in southern california. but the main areas chico to monterey, san francisco, yosemite included. big picture, look for temperatures, notice how warm it is for the southern tier of the this afternoon. much chillier for chicago with a high of just 28 degrees. that's a look at your forecast, frances, back to you. >> "early today" is back in a minute with the impact of china's new tariffs on wall street, and why the u.s. government is now in the running to buy tiktok. as a way to make it last longer. say

here's angie lassman who's tracking that system. >> we've got alerts from the plains to the east coast, 64 million people included in these. as we gear up for this storm system to work its way through the east today. notice the snow, the rain, the ice focussed across the midwest and the ohio valley today. likely some slick spots stretching from iowa to delaware. you can see by tomorrow, a wintry mix that we'll have to deal with along the i-95 corridor. we could see gusty storms across the tennessee valley. when it comes to totals, highest amounts, 2 to 5 inches across northern new england, boston included in that. and we'll also see that difficult travel with the ice accumulation possible across much of this region, taking it slow, maybe isolated power outages possible as we get through the day today and tomorrow. meanwhile, it feels like spring. 20 degrees above normal for nashville. philadelphia, just a touch above normal. we'll see temperatures ranging into the 70s and 80s across the southeast. out west we'll see temperatures into the low 80s, too. and then we keep the northern tier
