from los angeles, i'm anita vogel.near the grandstand near the grandstand at the national championship air races in reno, nevada. an official described this as a mass casualty situation. right now there is no word of any deaths but more than 7 a people have been injured in these u.s. air race crash. 25 people are considered critically injured. again, the good news here no word of any deaths at this point. now, it wasn't immediately known how many people were in the area when the plane crashed. but video of the crash showed a horrific scene of bodies and wreckage at the front of the stands. mike draper, a spokesman for the air races told the associated press that the pilot, jimmy lee ward, he was piloting a p-51 mustang that crashed into the box seat area at the front of the grandstand. this happening about 4:30 p.m. local time on the west coast. he said he did not have any information of the number of people injured at the time but now we know it looks like 75 people have been injured. 25 critically. just some backgrou
