ann: good morning. martha: good morning. ann, let's start with you. what is justice for our neighbors? ann: justice for our neighbors is a state-wide non-profit organization that provides free legal assistance and representation to low income immigrants throughout iowa. i'm herere because i am the attorney who works with the cedar rapids site. we come to cedar rapids once a month and we see any low income immigrants or as many as we can who need evaluate cases, and take on as many cases as we can. we are associated with the united methodist church, and so we do come from a faith- based background, although i want to be clear that we're not evangelical in any way. we serve all immigrants regardless of their religion and we don't have any kind of requirement for them to attend a church or anything like that to be served by us. martha: all three of you have some practicall experience in this field. what's happening with immigration, migration? when i was doing research for today's panel, they use those two words interchangeably. let's start righthere. i

a hospital security guard shot ruth ann warner's son jonathan more than two weeks ago. mona he's now paralyzed.. and she feels helpless. marissa parra spoke "exclusively" with warner's mother, for this emotional interview. 3 ruth ann warner says her son jonathan loved being outside with his family more than anything. it's been more than 2 weeks since she found out her son would never walk again.ruth ann warner, pick up the phone, and she says "ruthie did you hear, jonathan was shot at the hospital." shot after being admitted to the er lynchburg general hospital for emergency mental health treatment.ruth ann warner, mother of patient shot: "he went to get help." mary ann and wesley landers came here from alabama. right now, their 7 month-old baby is still being cared for here at the hospital. it was in her room that cincinnati police tell us the landers' were found...both with heroin needles still in their arms. lying in a bed covered in tubes and bandages...this is the condition mary ann and wesley landers' little girl was in when police say they decided to shoot heroin. it's a stark contrast to the image wesley posted to social media wednesday afternoon, just before his daughter's surgery. according to their "go fund me page" the landers' are from trinity, alabama and came to cincinnati children's for a trachea reconstruction. surgery went well...and the baby was recovering. but, according to cincinnati police around 11:30 this morning, medical staff went into the room and found 32-year-old mary ann dead. 31-year-old wesley was found locked inside the bathroom of his daughter's room...he was unconscious, but was revived. and has since been booked into the hamilton county jail on drug charges

fast forward to 2013 ann and ken were. their first national deployment started in gifford, illinois. a tornado slammed into the town. they headed out to do what they could. "it just absolutely ripped through the center of that town, from the southwest corner to the northeast corner." since then the couple has covered two other national disasters. st louis will be their fourth. on top of that, they've handled plenty of fires and smaller emergencies, locally. they love helping. and each couldn't think of a better person to do it with. "i've seen like sharing my experiences with her. in the end memories are all you got."
