ann has the latest on the investigation. >>reporter: 35-year-old george rodriguez is still on the loos loose. campbell police say he fled after beast his former girlfriend's 3-year-old daughter. the little girl was found with a black eye, bruises on her face and stomach in this garage. police now say it was the suspect's son. 15-year-old boy living in the house who discovered the little girl in rolled up carpet. police say the girl was picked up by a prepared and taken to her mother. the 15-year-old troubled by his discovery eventually called police. but by then the girl's mother jane had disappeared with the child. two days later the little girl and her mother were found in this shopping center parking lot near saint teresa boulevard in san jose. this is police on may 11th after finding them. >> it's an area where we had some information that she may have had some friends in that area and so they the developed some lead that is she was possibly going to this the particular parking lot. >>reporter: neighbor says she's not surprised. police had been to the house in the past. >> we would go and look and
