anna: we've had a data out from the u.k. this morning. we've got the gdp numbers and a host of other data points for us to wade through.ty unmoved by the data, but my colleague has been telling me that the pound has been carrying its losses on that print. the story may be has not changed all that much, or is it about better momentum into the second quarter? >> i think that's the key point, that we did see that march gdp print come in at 2.1%. that is above estimates and points to a strong handoff in the second quarter. i do think we are unlikely to see much of a catalyst for sterling upside from here. a lot of that good news on the recovery is priced in. we know the economy is going to bounce back in the second quarter. economists are already anticipating that. i do think a number of headwinds still lie ahead for the currency. we do have this exceptional budget deficit looming that is yet to be priced in by investors. i think clearly, today's going to be all about the dollar moves in terms of the broader fx complex. anna: the dollar certainly paring some of those early gains. thanks very much. laura cooper, bloomberg m
