anne makovec is in oakland to explain what is going on. good morning, anne. >> reporter: the first of 30 new security cameras was installed yesterday on this restaurant along international boulevard to deter criminals and help solve crimes after they are committed. and there is a reason that the first one was put here on this restaurant. this effort was inspired by the murder of this man, jesus chuy campos. he owned the restaurant on the corner otiz. he was a fixture and was shot on the morning of april 8. his murderer is on the loose. there was actually a security camera six doors down at the time that could have caught the shooter running away. unfortunately it was pointing the other direction so these new cameras are a major improvement. >> you think it will make you feel safer? >> i think. i think it will be more safety for everybody. >> i think wherever they have cameras, people feel safer. >> reporter: so we are going to see 17 being put up over the next few weeks here on international boulevard and 13 more will be installed above fo

anne makovec with the very latest at sfo.ou. >>> a woman whose final destination would have been sacramento is in jail in philadelphia this morning. she is from roseville. she was arrested after arriving on a plane from london. she is accused of threatening the flight crew and the passengers there. investigators say the woman said she would blow up the plane. >>> a high-speed chase in the east bay with the police is over and the two men are now behind bars. kristy seifkin explains how the incident ended. >> reporter: about 7:45 police saw a car with a license plate that matched that of two men who were wanted for murder of a man in grand junction, colorado, and also the murder of two individuals here in the bay area. they attempted to pull that driver over. he didn't stop and he continued and a multiple freeway chase began. the driver got on the 880 freeway, continued through fremont and then hayward, san leandro and oakland. multiple agencies were involved in the pursuit. and then that car merged on eastbound 980 then eastbo

our anne makovec is at the police station this morning where, anne, things got intense last night. >>eporter: yeah. the community meeting was meant to kind of calm the discord that we have seen between people here in the bayview and the police department. but it really just made it more apparent that there is a serious problem here. here is some footage of police chief greg suhr being shouted down during the meeting last night. [ screaming ] >> reporter: the chief left not long after this happened. he did try several times to answer people's questions about the shooting last weekend. but a lot of people were just there to vent. [ screaming ] >> people are upset that an act of violence happened in their town square but we were doing our best to make sure that mr. harding didn't do any violence to the community. >> reporter: you just heard greg suhr mention the incident. meeting was held in response to the police shooting in the neighborhood last weekend. it started as officers approached a 19-year-old man for fare a vegas on the bus. he took off. police say he was shooting as them as h

anne makovec explains that the dueling plans have neighbors snapping at each other and anne, it's amazing how passionate both sides get over this. >> reporter: oakland isn't a dog-friendly city. there are only five dog parks in the city and compare that to san francisco's 17 dog parks. so dog advocates have long been trying to get a dog park especially in the citycenter. behind me here is astro park here in oakland. it is at lakeshore and mcarthur boulevard and they are proposing a half acre fenced-in dog park here. right now as you can see from the sign here, no dogs are allowed in the park and that is a similar theme throughout several city parks. they have been working on the plan for 10 years, this fenced- in dog park. the commission gave preliminary approval for it in december but a lot of neighbors got upset about it. they were concerned that this green area was going to turn sort of brown and obviously have more commotion, noise. they are concerned that it would ruin the neighborhood so those neighbors came one their own plan coming up with a dog park at the old police horse stable
