kpix 5 reporter anne makovec is live at novato high school with more. >> reporter: the high school is closed today because people are beside themselves and so many questions on this investigation. no arrests have been made. police have not talked at all about a motive. all we know is that at 5:30 authorities got a call about a high school student who was stabbed and shot at fairway drive. they took that teen to the hospital and searched a nearby area and found a second teenager shot dead. the only description they have is very vague. three hispanic men. neighbors say they also saw a white sedan speeding from the scene. >> we have a crime where someone was murdered with a handgun and a knife. so armed and dangerous, absolutely. we don't know the reasoning or what brought these individuals together. was it a chance encounter or planned? that's what we'll find out. >> reporter: this is the letter that the principal sent to parents. the principal of novato high school said that the school is working very closely with law enforcement and they are going to have counselors on campus through
